Default Max injector size on stock ecu

Where is the limit on injector size before the ecu can’t handle the small opening times? My 1300 already miss on pump but I imagine it’s the dw1300s that’s the issue. Smooth on e85

I'm running 1300 cc's and have a smooth idle with either pump or E85. you might not have your injector latency correct if you are having idle issues.

on IDs the point where idle starts to get effected with a gas tune is 1700's not really sure about DW but I would assume maybe you're getting to that point with those, wats your AFR at?

You shouldn't get under opening time injectors with injector time at idle. ECU dosen't have something like limit in the injectors flow rate. For the ECU injector size is multiplier. Probloem could start if injector time is close to 0ms so Injector duty is (opening time + 0ms). If you have problem with idling on the super big injectors try to lower the pressure on the fuel reg when engine isn't on the load.

It’s at very low throttle right on the edge of over-run running pump gas that it breaks up, or throws misfire code.

for anything bigger than dark blue top feeds, you really want to have low pulsewidth compensations in place. even oem roms (32 bit and newer) have low ipw tables on stock injectors.

also, the ecu doesn't think in terms of flow, it's a duration based logic. the conversion used in opensource is 2707090/(the raw microsecond duration) = "cc/min"

which is true, if you know what the temperature and density is rolled into that constant. since injector flow tests aren't using the same specs that roll into that constant, Subarus will always use a value that is never exactly flow test.

since a longer duration is needed for ethanol, the larger raw timing value becomes a lower cc/min when divided into 2707090, which is why ethanol single fuel tunes will have a reduced cc/min rating over pump gas.
