Yes and Yes.

If you look at my picture again, you will see that I have a SanDisk mini-USB flash drive plugged into the bottom left corner of the HU. That's where all of my MP3 files are stored.

If I was determined to use an iPod/MP3 player to provide my music, I would have bought the higher model of Pioneer HU in the same family (4400BH, I believe) that provides a rear USB port rather than the front USB port, and I would have run a USB cable into the glove compartment or something so that I could hide the MP3 player in there. But I like having my MP3 files on the mini USB, which is low-profile enough that its appearance doesn't bother me.

I definitely wouldn't want a cable hanging out of the front of my HU, though. I took the time to hard-wire my GPS and radar detector, so the last thing I would want is a cable hanging out of my HU.

As for losing the AUX connector, I don't care because I never use it. USB is all I need.

Sorry for all the silly questions, I just don't know who else to ask about these on this car.. lol

A few more..

1) How is the aero splash rear section attached? The front "lip" pieces? The rear add-on spoiler? Front grille?

2) Can you use the STI rad cap as shown in the SPT catalog? There's also a nice Cosworth one online.. But nothing is listed for our cars. It sounds like the battery tie down and oil caps are universal between newer Subaru's.. This should be to

3) Is anyone using LED's in th fogs? I'd like to get some yellow ones. Then white LED's for the top "eyebrow", yellow halogens for the highs, and 6000k HID's for the lows.

I think that's it for now.. lol

Check Subarugenuineparts.com. You can find SPT Rad cap and battery tie down there for our cars

I was considering the overlay, but I want the brightness of the LED's so it matches the HID's.

Leds aren't necessarily brighter, especially yellow ones

I understand that. But it's more cosmetic for this than actually for seeing..

i already have that harness from my amp install with that pin and I think the CANBus pins removed. and I already have a different forester radio transplanted can't wait for the LCD one!

Here it is. See post 23 for original instructions. Page four has the interesting data on how the settings effect the sound.

cosmetically speaking the overlays work out better than yellow hid fogs, if you didn't want to use the overlay you could have the fog light lenses replaced with yellow ones.

for example of pioneer 4400 and 8400 see the thread below
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2435877

both setups have ipod /iphone connectivity, iphone 5 you have to connect via bt, aux, usb, sd card, etc. Only thing not added is sirius/xm, and sat nav since I travel to many countries so mobile gps wins always.

All new cars 07-ish and after have them.

On my Si, I had two piece Volks, so I ran mine with no TPMS. The only downside to that is the little TPMS light stays on. With these AWD systems, would anything lose its mind if there were no TPMS? I plan on using the TPMS for my main wheels, but IF I get a winter set, I plan on not using them.

I was looking at the 18x8 black Enkei M52's myself. That, or some powdercoated BBS's.

My winter wheels don't have TPMS sensors. I just live with the tire pressure light on my dash for 5 months out of the year.

Excellent. I was figuring there'd be no problem, just wanted to make sure. If that's the case, I might just get my friends' 17x7 BBS RX's for winters.

And I'm kinda digging those Sparco's. Look like the old OZ Rally Car wheels.

TPMS existed way earlier than 2007, however, it was federally mandated (US) in ALL vehicles sold in the US starting with model year 2008.
