Default Throttle body coolant mod 5-10 WHP gain

Hot coolant running through the throttle body will be directed around the throttle body instead of through it, this

bypass is for Cooler and denser air. And you will notice a warm instead of hot intake manifold when valve is

closed. You can you use a plumbing shut off valve from home Depot or Lowes to toggle on and off. If you have

the car in very cold climate's like Alaska you might want the valve. If the car will never see weather well below 0

degrees just reuse the 1/4 lines your be fine. All my car's have this mod and friend's car's as well never had any

problems. As for decreased fuel economy I feel if you don't have a good engine tuner and worried about your

MPG keep it stock.

there IS definatly an old thread on this board about this mod. Its a free mod, but these guys are selling the parts you need to do it so i guess its worth it. time is a valuable asset right.. right.

Spend a few minutes searching, there IS a thread or two about this mod. Make sure these guys are selling you what you need. My guess is after you find the old threads you'll just go out and buy what you need yourself if anything.

Do not buy this. It is ridiculous.

You can buy the brass coupling at your local hardware store for like $3 and do the bypass yourself. Gains will be very very minimal too, not "6-8 HP at the wheels."

Jesus.

www.scoobymods.com has the instructions and this will NOT net you 5-10HP. I did it because it makes sense and it cost me like $2 for the fitting.

I didn't have to buy any fittings. The factory coolant hose will reach the other connection on the block without bending or binding.

Dude, you don't need to buy anything. if you're looking down at your block below the throttlebody there are too hose nipples. Simply take one of the hoses from the throttle body and connect those two coolent line hose nipples together. One of the two hoses on the throttlebody is too short. Use the other one. You can even reuse the hose clamp. Now paypal me $11.95. Gawd.

you can buy a couple large vacuum caps if you really want to 'cap off' the fittings on the throttle body... which really isn't a bad idea, but you can do the mod right now and then drive over to get the caps from any autozone.

Yeah, plug it back in before winter. This is a common mod on integra's and civics too.

no need to hook it back up. The car runs JUST FINE without it in subfreezing temperatures.

You know, since the ECU can't measure a temperature difference at the manifold, it really shouldn't have any affect on power. On a Honda, the IAT sensor is after the throttle body so, the ECU can measure the difference.

since we are talking about heating the air prior to its entry to the combustion chamber, yes, it should make a difference.

Good thought, but a little backwards... the coolant flows through the TB to warm the TB up, not to warm the coolant
