At the Track 04 WRX(Stock Turbo)- 13.2 at 102

I suprised myself at the track wednesday.

I ran a 13.2 on a stock turbo w/ boost controller and s-afc II... plus the usual bolt ons.

ALSO, I was on a full tank of pump gas(93 oct) with heavy @$$ 18" Racing Harts... going again tonight on my stock wheels with some racing fuel(110 oct)

I'll post the time slips when I get a chance. Any comments?

My boy "Colombia"(don't know his real name) tuned my car with the s-afc II which shaved 1/2 sec of my 1/4 mile, but he wont tell me what he set the afr to... said "it's my little secret"

And my 60 ft was a 1.791

Never got it dynoed

I second that suggestion. I removed the BOV from my set up and gained 2.5mph and .24 in the 1/8 mile.

2.5mph and a quarter of a second from a bov going back to sstock... that couldn't possibly have been slightly better driving??

Why would a UTEC with a proper tune be slower than a SAFC and MBC?

Ya never know.. maybe the setup he has now is making more power but with unsafe AFR's.

Default huh?

how could a bov make such a large 1/4 mile difference?? the only difference i could possibly imagine is going from atmosphere back to recirc and that keeping the turbo spooled on shifts... but that big a difference seems impossible to be all bov...

i agree, variable with biggest probable change in that scenario.......

human operator.

Results from tonight?

Also, I'd be pretty nervous about not knowing AFR's. For $50 or less you can probably go to a dyno and get the setup dyno'd (not tuned), and get an idea of AFR's throughout the rev range. Unless you have some kind of knocklink/J&S, and can confirm that there is no det.

Unhappy

Wed. when I ran the 13.2 I ran it consistently ... Tonight I ran a 13.3 at 102, guess my heavy 18"s get better traction. Used racing fuel this time, and temp. was about the same too...

nice times your making just a hair more power than me from your trap speed best i was able to get this summer was 101.5mph, but i would get her on a dyno to see what kind of afr your at, by the way how much boost are you running at the track?

They recently got an AWD Dyno in Orlando at CFT (Central Florida Turbo), so I just may, but I know the afr is fine, it's just that the guy that tuned the s-afc II doesn't like to give out his "tuning secrets"... He works for HDMmotorsports.com ...they mostly tune honda but the guy has talent.

and I'm runin about 16 psi

On your first slip, what car did you run against? Must have been FWD considering his horrible 60'. His ET sucks complete ass but with a pretty quick trap. Just curious to see what it was.

Trust, I guess. The time slip obviously shows the difference. He tuned it right. I'm confident in him. He ran a 12.9 in a Del Sol .
