a few questions (STi, Kumhos, etc...)
Hey all.
1) can anyone give any valid comparisons of the Kartboy & STi shifters? Is the Kartboy shifter still available? 2) are the Kumho 712's suitable for street use? I don't auto-x (yet), but I'd like to upgrade from the RE92's without paying more than $100/tire 3) does anyone have any pics of what the RS looks like with mudflaps? I'm interested in getting some. TIA, J. Kent |

For question #2:
Yes, the Kumho 712 are a street tire, they are a 100% improvement over the RE92's |

I have the 712s on my MY00 and love them for a daily driver. I'm eventually getting V700s or R1s for AutoX on my stock rims. I'm running the 712s in a 205 50ZR 16 size on the gold 98 RS OEM rims. I got the 712s from tirerack for $76 per tire great deal with the gold rims $794 shipped to my door. They are an excellent tire for the price. Nice stiff sidewalls and rim protection bead.
The 712s have a nice tread pattern with great wet weather performance as well. Oh yeah, Dale Teague has the Kartboy shifter and bushings for sale. http://home.att.net/~teaguesauto/ I've done business with Dale in the past and he is very knowledgable and has good prices.
