Wish DR the best of luck driving the Alpha Tractor for the rest of the season. Looks like RB is playing games with their drivers and this may be DR's chance to get a shot at the 2nd spot at RB or risk not racing in a F1 car again if he declines. At least from what has been mentioned on several videos about the topic anyways...

I don't see RB giving DR a shot again. He and Max didn't get along on track before, I doubt that's going to change, although Max has seemed to grow up a bit. If DR can keep performing, I feel like there's plenty of mid-field spots for him. Maybe replacing Sargent, who I imagine will find himself without a contract at the end of the year. Although he doesn't seem to do well in the mid-field. But I don't see them taking the 2nd seat from Checo as long as he keeps putting up decent numbers on track. He does really need to change his qualifying luck though.

I see it a little differently: Ricciardo left RB because RB has concentrated on Verstappen and he felt like he wasn´t loved enough anymore. Verstappen did not have a problem with Ricciardo, but Verstappen has a problem with Perez.

Ricciardo driving for AT is good for RB on many levels:
- is Ricciardo as good as his first RB days, or is he still as bad as his McLaren days
- with Ricciardo as benchmark, how good or bad is Tsunoda
- if Ricciardo shows a killer perfomance he will be back in the second RB seat, and Tsunoda will be the next guy who loses his seat because there is no need for RB to care for Honda wishing an asian guy

Tsunoda will be AM problem.
Unless Honda has some one else in the pipeline.

The only tussle between Max and Checo is when Max is behind. Austria lap 1 this year was like a clear rinse and repeat of the DR/Max issue at Baku. Max doesn't like to be second on the team. He wants to be in front. He needs a driver that's okay with being second. Checo seems to be cool with that, but he's also not going to go limp just because Max is a big crybaby. If he's in the lead, Max needs to earn it back. Honestly, I think they make a great pair, and it seems like RB does too. The Austria incident seemed to blow over a bit better than the Baku incident which basically forced DR to leave RB.

DR at AT is a great move for RB no doubt. They need a better baseline on what the AT car is capable of, but at the same time, we've seen that DR can really struggle in a less-than-competitive car. DR struggles when he's stuck in the mid-field, but the AT is likely going to be bottom of the pack, not even mid-field. Hopefully he's had a mindset change and doesn't flop like he did at renault or mclaren. DR can drive a fast car fast, but history has proven that he can't drive a mediocre car fast, so we'll see. This weekend should be interesting.

Lewis "felt like the car at its worst" Hamilton wins qualifying, Russell with rookie mistake, Sainz and Perez still the disappointments they are, McLaren solid, Alonso and Aston losing their mojo, Hülkenberg knows that he will pound sand on sunday, Williams back to reality, Ricciardo nearly a second faster than Tsunoda

Zhou must of fallen asleep at the start. He caused both Alpine to take each other out.
Lewis got swamped at the start by Max and the McLarens.

Another snooze win by Max
Good recovery by Checo
Is McLaren now the 2nd best team ?
Good 1st race by Riccardo after the 1st corner crash. Beats Tsnoda.
Ever since Alonso shot his mouth off about fiinishing on the podium in every race, he failed to get the podium in the last 4 out of 5 races.
After 5 years Haas still can't figure out their tire issues.

Checo's race was really fun to watch. He's gotta figure out his quali issues but I really can't see RB moving on from him.

Ricciardo had an okay race. I'm sure he was glad to be ahead of Yuki, but he was down in the lower 5 almost the whole race. Okay for a first outing but imo he needs to get into the points next weekend.

Really impressed with the new McLaren. Both drivers killing it.

Will HAAS ever get things sorted? They're decent, just can't keep it up for a full race.

such is life. he'll be back in first within the first few laps no doubt. Checo and Leclerc have been my favorite drivers, excited to see them both on the front row.

It was fun to watch max almost not make it out of q2. Not that I dislike him and want to see him lose, but more that it's fun to see a shakeup.

Would have been interesting to see how well Ricciardo would have faired if he didn't get his lap time deleted, he put up a pretty good one.

Should be a wet sprint race tomorrow, always makes things interesting.

6th, and he needed 17 laps before he was the pack leader again, this is not acceptable, he is getting old, and don´t get me started on the fastest lap....RedBull should look for a new No 1

I loved the banter between GP and Max over the radio. GP was getting feisty.

Ricciardo, floundering around in the bottom of the pack, once again.

Well now, hoping race results similar to qualifying results. Looks like anyone from P2 - P10 has a good chance of staying close and providing a good race. Probably jinxed it.
