Default Whats the appeal of the Morettes?

I'm not trying to offend anyone here who has these things, but I'm really curious as to why you like them. I just don't find them appealing at all. Is it cause they look kinda like the WRC lights? Is that why a lot of people have them on their car? So to everyone out there who has the morettes, why'd you decide to get them? Like I said, I'm not trying to offend anyone, just curious what people see in them.

I have the UK300s on my wagon and got them because of the increased function. The stock lighting was a bit of a disappointment after coming from the HID in my S2000. The UK300s are halogen low and high, but you dont lose your lows when you hit the highs.

The look was not a hit or miss to me, but I didnt want Morettes because of how they alter the area around the grille.

Ideally, a set of HIDs in a factory projector housing would fit the bill, but that would also be very expensive. From a lighting standpoint, the UK300s did a good job at a reasonable price... for me, looks had nothing to do with it.

my initial set were the Prodrives, with Hella projectors, gave them away and was given some morettes to run for SEMA. The feedback I was getting from the Prodrives was more negative, than the feedback Im getting from the morettes. I like the morettes better myself, but cant wait to get the STI jdms hid's!

peace!

The ECode lens on my morettes did improve lighting quite a bit (not to mention the crazy high beam I get with them). But it would have been better if the GC8 models were offered with projectors - then I can start hacking my DRL and put in HIDs on them. As it stands, I like them, but I would like them even more with projector and HIDs.

I think the Morettes look way much better than the "bug-eye" stock headlights of the 2002+ WRX.

I agree with Stefx. What is the appeal of the stock lights? I mean in the end some people like blue and others prefer red. No harm is that. I like the way morettes accent the fog lights. I mean to me, they fit the lines of the front of the car very well.

I think the morettes make the car look 10X more aggressive and definitely more classy. I was actually really surprised that you don't think they look amazing. Nobody has ever given me a negative comment about them. I think they're the best improvement, cosmetically, that you can make. Even before I bought my WRX I had seen pictures of them with morettes and made up my mind that I would get them. Luckily I was able to buy my car used (barely) at a decent price with morettes already on there and painted. Also, from a functional standpoint the light output is great. I'm not saying that I think people with other style headlights, or stock headlights have ugly cars, I just prefer the mo's.

IMO, you don't have to agree with me, the morettes for the MY02-MY03 makes the car look more like a bug. If they enhance visibility then i understand your point, but if for more aggressive looks, it looks more buggish to me.

Morettes makes funny looking lamps kits, they're just not for me i guess.

P.S. You dont' have to agree with me.

IMO, HID projector is better than the Morettes on the new style.

1.
Increased light out put, especially on high beam, then you throw in the fog light mod, and you are looking at near daylight with the highs on!
2.
Also, it is much more aggresive looking than the stock lights.
3.
No one mistakes you for a neon with them

Later,
Andy

<--has a box at home with morettes and 4300k hid's
why? more agressive styling, better light output/patter. but mostly i wanted HID's and still have my high beams, but i didnt wanna fork over uber $ for sti/jdm lights.

mmmmm, me like my GC8 morettes....still gotta paint them and the grille though...maybe it's the foreign appeal, kinda like people who buy designer clothes or whatever, i like them because they light the road better and personally i like the look a lot better than "plain jane" headlights....
