Better looking wheels on the premium Impreza model. The current ones offered are ugly.

Please rework bundling on future option packages for Ascent. Adding a moonroof to a Premium costs almost $5k and also causes loss of MPG due to the bundled 20” wheels... too big of a price to pay.

Default Suggestions to SOA: Ref. Future Models

Subaru, please please PLEASE build a TRUE replacement to the elegant, athletic, and premium 2005-2009 Legacy/Outback XT/Legacy GT. I know this was over a decade ago and the market has changed, but I have got to voice some opinions.

The forth generation Legacy/Outback was upmarket feeling and a unique proposition in the market. As an aside, I find it completely laughable that the marketing campaign for the successor in 2010 was against mediocrity. The models may have been similar on paper (or even improved in terms of space,) but the design and execution of the interior/exterior was bizarre and basic. A complete step backwards. Of course, it was based on a model of Legacy that was not at all premium feeling, and has never really returned to form. Please understand that the ONLY thing wrong with the fourth generation Legacy was that it was really too small to compete in the midsize segment. I understand you were after sales and wanted to go after the Camry's success, but you have created a huge missed opportunity by catering to that crowd only.

We understand that the market is all about crossovers these days, so we wouldn't be upset if it was only the Outback XT and not a Legacy GT/Legacy wagon that came back. But really, you cannot only have the WRX as an AWD semi-sporting offering. What are people supposed to buy as soon as they out-mature the WRX or if they want a more refined/premium car? There is no next step in the brand to keep them in the family. Nobody else is really building a viable alternative. I don't want a VW. You love being niche and have resolved to stay as such, and this would bring tons of new buyers as well as allow people to stay in the brand as they did. Plenty of people want a relatively affordable, *nice* AWD car with some sporting pretensions. Not a big cushy cheap car. Your own studies have shown that buyers equate AWD as a more premium feature, so make the standard Legacy/Outback more premium again, mix in good driving dynamics (again,) and people will buy it regardless. If you honestly think people that want more premium AWD product are prepared to make the jump from a WRX to a BMW or Audi then that is an incredible missed opportunity.

There is nothing wrong with building more entry-level, smaller, utilitarian transport and having slightly upmarket options in your portfolio. At the very least, make the WRX more premium inside or bring the Legacy/Outback "up" a bit again. Remember when the Outback generation in question was considered a viable alternative to the Volvo XC70, because despite being more expensive it wasn't a significantly better car to warrant the cost? That was saying a lot. In the meantime, there's a maniacal crowd of 05-09 Legacy/Outback owners (including myself) who are holding on to our cars for dear life and are unlikely to replace them in-house because there is no successor.

Hello SOA

My suggestion is pretty simple. I'd love to see a manual transmission mated to the H6 or EZ motors. I own and drive a 2015 3.6R Legacy daily, and I'm really missing a 3rd pedal down there. I would do anything for a manual option, please!!!!

Also, a Legacy coupe in all available motor options as well. You guys did coupes in the past, bring them back please!

A Legacy coupe 2.4 turbo and an 3.6R with manual option is basically our Porsche for a more reasonable price, and Japanese goodness.

We probably won't be seeing a manual on anything but WRX & STI, and only with H4. Maybe try to import a used one from Europe.

Subaru of America announced that the 2019 Crosstrek base and premium trim levels will be available with 6 speed manual. I think the manual transmission will be around a little longer than rumored.

Default Gear ratios and speed limits

Take a look at the most common US speed limits when considering the gear ratios.
Having to choose 3000 rpm (Sti stumble territory) or 1900 rpm (lugging, or near) is not real great while driving through town.

I don't have an answer here, was just hoping my 2012 sti 6 speed would be better in this dept than my 02 wrx 5 speed, but nope, it isn't.

Wrong. Get a WRX for that. That's why it's easier to drive... on public roads.

Just had a loaner Forester with Eyesight while the XT was in the shop... The Eyesight is neat, but for the love of all that is good... there has to be a way to shut off the BEEP every time it locks onto a car. I eventually had to turn on the normal cruise and forego the adaptive because the beeping was just too much.

Soa, Because rumors of a mid engine subaru sports car keep showing up.

Take the new Alpine A110 chassis, put a wrx or sti motor in the back and restyle. Sell them like crazy in the US. Maybe even add a hybrid option for the future?

You mean like this? Probably only if Toyota funds it as a MR-2/MR-S remake.

Anyone here still hoping for a Crosstrek with a turbocharged engine? With the Legacy and Outback getting the 2.4 DIT, I'm hoping the Crosstrek, or a WRX hatchback is next...

2022 WRX

Don't show us painted black glossy trim and fender pieces on a concept version, and then give us the same body cladding, easily sun-discolored plastic found on every other model. And why the exact copy of a Honda C-HR rear bumper?
