Default Now what..? (JDM STi headlights)

I have a bunch of questions!

Got these:

Now what? Is it as simple as doing a retrofit and go?

I tried emailing ligtwerkz, but still have yet to receive a response. Do the wiring harnesses for the retrofit kits plug into the 9007 plugs? Is the process simply:
1.) Open housings.
2.) Remove original projector assemblies and mounting plates.
3.) Mount new projector assemblies to original mounting plates (somehow).
4.) Align.
5.) Reassemble.
6.) Plug in new wiring to OEM sockets.
7.) Enjoy.

I don't understand from your thread title or post what you're looking to do?

You're trying to do a retrofit (aftermarket projectors into JDM STI housings) ?

Or are you just trying to install them ?

Lightwerkz is generally on point with info... I installed mine with a Lightwerkz PnP harness and came out well. I know they do retrofit service as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I just wire them up as is with the PnP harness, the beam pattern will be wrong (RHD). This can then be corrected (LHD) with a retrofit, right?

isn't this why they ask whether your vehicle is RHD or LHD? recently asked them some questions about another vehicle, and they were very helpful

Im not sure how to change them, but i know it can be done...when i brought my USDM STi to England i paid a shop 80$ to do the light conversions, which included changing the head light beam pattern from RHD to LHD

After rereading your post i think your looking too far into it...you shouldnt have to open them up at all...if you look at the back of the lights the light adjustment should be those two knobs diagonal from each other...you would only have to adjust the bottom projector not the high beam

I mean i could be wrong but one should bring the beam up and down, and one left and right

While you can adjust them up/down + left/right this will NEVER fix the problem you have which is the RHD beam pattern. If you adjust them as much as you can to not blind oncoming traffic the light output on the road for your use is next to nothing.

You'll have to acquire a LHD beam pattern insert off ebay (or somewhere else but I found mine there) and take apart the headlights to install it.

It's a time consuming process but not hard if you have all the tools. I used a heat gun instead of baking them because I didn't want to risk ruining my expensive headlights.

Once the piece is installed into the projector housing you reverse the process and then plug them up with a lightwerkz wiring unit and you're done.

You'll be much happier with the light output and all other drivers on the road will thank you for not blinding them.

zombie thread....

Initially I tried that reaiming thing....it is USELESS.

Crack them open or send them out.

The retro only takes maybe 2 hours...then a bit to wire in the ballasts, depending on your abilities with wiring
