You can bash on Nissan all you want but they sell more vehicles than Subaru for a reason. You obviously can't see that though.

The reverse issue was VERY small and was only a reprogramming. Vibrations yes, but was not a "reliability" issue. I am not totally up on the banjo bolt issue, but our mechanics said they didn't have many(not saying it wasn't a larger issue everywhere) compared to how many were sold.

Nissan has had to REPLACE MANY CVTs due to reliability issues, and even put a hefty warranty on them because of it. I had thought they would have taken care of that with this new CVT, but apparently they haven't since my dealer has had to replace several already.

I am well aware how many Nissan cars are sold. My dealer is the biggest in the area and Nissan is the #1 seller in my area. That just adds to my point. Nissan fits the demographic here.

VW has a crap reliability rep yet they are going to push to be #1 globally. The current Jetta is a POS. People don't care because it is cheap and gets great gas. So, my point is many people who buy may have reliability on their mind, but a lot of them apparently will put that on the back burner for other things.

I am bashing mainly their reliability because that was the comment I was responding to. I like a few of their cars, but still would not own one for the lack of a good AWD.

On the 13 or 14?

It's about $50/month, so that could be a factor assuming my credit cooperates.

And about Nissan: **** them in the ear and wipe it on the curtains on the way out. Never. Again.

Based on who he was quoting and why, he meant the '13.

I looked for a while (online, between New England and DE) trying to find a '13 Forester XT Touring but could not find a single one. A found a few Premiums, but they were all red...

All well, I guess I'll have to hold out and see what happens with the '14's, and then the '15s. I spent some time watching STI reviews last night to deter any impulsive buys that would waste more money than the early trade I'm considering now will.

I'm looking for something dependable and inexpensive (low $20s) and I'd prefer a Subaru. Crosstrek or Forester. Whatever. It'd be the base whatever.

Around here, they don't have the 0% financing, just 2.9% or some kind of lease deal.

All '13 Foresters, nationwide, are 0% right now. I'd also recommend penfed as you can get 1.49% for new cars.

Wow. I could have sworn that it was higher than that last night!

I won't be able to move on one this week, so that's until the end of the month. We'll see what happens in March.

Maybe I don't need an XT after all.

Let me know what you decide. Maybe we can double-team 'em and get a helluva deal!

Remember that the dealer will get credited for a sale in February, if the deal is done on the 1st business day of the next month. Could give you a couple of bucks worth of leverage.

Depends. Sometimes they go an extra day or two if it is over a weekend. Sometimes not. I know the "True Love Sales Event" ends on the 28th; so, can't remember if Subaru's month ends on the 28th or not.

For anyone out the in the Seattle area, Carter Subaru is advertising a 2014 Forester Preview event Feb 27 to March 1. Good chance to get a hands-on look before ordering.

Depending on how well the Forester sell down is going, they could extend the 0% to next month. That would be nice.

The 2 main locals around here still have over 20. I'd be surprised if they stop the 0%

One of the success stories Subaru has over the past several years is not only record numbers, but how well they are doing it without a lot of incentives. This is only the 3rd time I have seen them offer 0%. We shall see in a week.

Pretty retarded logic. By that reasoning the Corolla is the best vehicle in the compact segment.

Corolla Type S with a 6-speed manual and 200HP FA20 would be all win, no competition, hands down.

I'm mad that I can't configure a black Forester XT Touring WITH EyeSight package. I would default to white at that point. Gotta have my push button start and HIDs, son.

Can't have black and EyeSight. Reflection.

Having a filter for the oil fed turbo that could easily be a lose/lose situation was not Subaru's best idea. Vibrations in the steering wheel, yeah I'd lump that with reliability if I was the average customer that Subaru caters to. The reverse issue is still an issue on 2013's Outbacks. One person came forward and said they still have the issue and not everyone, obviously, who owns a 2013 Subaru Outback equipped with the CVT joins the forums to talk about it.

But it doesn't warrant a full REPLACEMENT of the tranny like Nissan's been having to do. Lump what ever you like, but those vibrations aren't failures. The "continued" reverse issue is funny to me. How many people slowly back their car up to a curb and "stop" at the curb, then try and climb it? Once I know where the curb is(forward or in reverse) I will hit it with a roll.

And surely they won't join NASIOC to talk about it. They would bring it to the dealer to complain. We have YET to have one in 4 model years. The worst we have had was one replacement in 2009. One reprogramming because it wouldn't leave "2nd" in 2009 and one 2012 second gen CVT replacement in 2012(a Nissan employee's car at that!! LOL)

I ordered the 2014 XT touring today. Took advantage of the insane residuals. My lease payments will be on par with Impreza LTD payments

I wasn't bringing up Subaru's CVT in reference to Nissan's CVT reliability. I brought it up because at a customer's standpoint, it doesn't matter what needs to be replaced or done to fix the issue.

And I will lump those issues with whatever I like. ;D I'm just saying to the customer you can try to say it using different more softer words but the image of "brand reliability" is always there. The majority of them are aren't savvy with how or why it's happening and it doesn't matter to them. It's how it affects them that they care about.

Justy, it's not just the curb... It's up inclines. Regardless, it's not a matter of who would ever do that, it's a matter of why can't it do that if ever needed to? That's like buying a Toyota RAV4 and trying to use the AWD but then realizing it's crap because Toyota couldn't care less for AWD that actually does something productive when the driver needs it the most.

Sorry but dealers are not always the first place people go to in order to complain. They surely do come there to get it fixed under warranty but your workplace is definitely not always the first to hear about these issues.

I went with Dark Grey Metallic, close to black, but best you can get with Eyesight package.

Check your local credit union too, mine's down to 1.49% (this assumes things are going back to 2.9 in March)
