Subaru was giving away tickets at WBM so saw it sunday. Typical escaping the crime world premise. The sole subaru was relegated to the opening scene. Pretty good flow, a little far fetched toward the end. Not sure about the rewatchability. It was fun leaving the lot with two theaters full of subies.

Yeah, it was just OK. Jamie Foxx's character was annoying as hell. I was kind of surprised the Subaru was only in it for that much time as well.

Probably would not have seen it if the ticket wasn't free and I didn't live 30 seconds from the theater.

Uh...this was, okay? I'm not understanding why it has such a high aggregate score. It wasn't bad don't get me wrong. Not the type of movie I would usually pay to see in theaters TBH.

This movie has massive critical hype. I love Edgar Wright, so I'll probably try and see it this weekend.

I'm seeing it tonight. Overall reviews seem to convey what I've come to expect from an Edgar Wright film. Until recently I hadn't really appreciated the nuances of his comedy and editing style in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, only Scott Pilgrim. Now I can better see his footprint in Ant-Man.

After tonight I'll probably go revisit his previous works. And I'll give overall thoughts.

That is a way over-hyped rating; the plot was way too stereotypical for such a good score. Its more of a "if youve seen it once" flick. No depth.

It was "Drive" set to music with less attractive people.

Just watched it, very old story, seen-it-before, but it was done with Edgar Wright's weird style.

The whole movie was basically an artistic editing and cutting exercise set to music.

I liked it, but I can see why that would do nothing for other viewers.

Aside from Guardians of the Galaxy, where the main character got to basically choose the soundtrack in his own movie, this one did the same, but in a more slick, technical way.

To me, the characters, story, even Baby, were besides the point.

Just finished. I really enjoyed it. The driving and the music were executed very well.

The love story was kinda meh. Very forced.

Bad guys didn't play out as you thought they might.

Thinking about it, even the plot doesn't play out exactly as you'd expect. Pieces of it were definitely by-the-numbers, but the overall presentation was refreshing.

8/10.

Lots of action and few slow spots. Some questions did come up.

Possible spoilers
Mostly curious who the hell the "soldier boy" was at the bank transport heist was. Vigilante? Badass security? Is Doc a mob boss? Why is suddenly all the cops coming after them after the post office instead of just the dirty ones when their buddies bit the dirt?

Probably would give it a 3-3/4 out of 5. Recommended matinee movie but not a prime time one.

FYI, your attempt at inivistext does not work on the app at all, it shows up as normal text.

At first I thought Soldier Boy was a character of importance, but it turns out he was just some random a**hole with guns who thought he was being John McClane.

When they first showed him I thought maybe he was their inside man. Then he did what you said and I got all confused.

The more I think about it, I probably won't rewatch this in theaters, but I will buy it on bluray, just to play it on my home entertainment theater system, more to listen to, than watch.

Decent movie... great soundtrack.

I thought the editing and visuals were top-notch.

Story was a bit meh, but I went in expecting that.

And the second half of the movie was definitely better than the first half.

Honestly though, I feel like the high 97% score on Rotten is just because it's an Edgar Wright movie... I'd say it's more like an 80%, for whatever it's worth.

Well the way I look at it, the score just means 97% of reviewers gave it a positive review, but most of those reviews were likely 75-80% scores like you said.

I thought the first half was much better than the second half. By the end, it just seemed like loud action sequences without the cleverness of the beginning. Maybe on rewatching I would like it better?

Saw it last night. Overall, I thought it was very entertaining; in detail, certainly not flawless. Agree, I really don't like Jamie Foxx trying to play this hard gangster thing. It's not believable, and the character was over the top. Jon Hamm is always super cool, and his girl is super hot, but their whole "we make out all the time" thing was just overkill, too.

Baby's character is super interesting. There's this savant-like thing going on, but then kinda hipster deal with the soundtrack and music, it made it very appealing to the senses, even when you didn't notice (like gunshots sync'd to the music). I thought it was great bc it was about the total movie experience: characters, music, visuals, etc. While no one of those was perfect, the sum of the parts was greater than the whole, so to speak.
