What's up guys! I haven't been active on this thread for a long time but a lot has happened to my car! After I left this thread, I went Stage 1 with the COBB AccessPORT and soon after went Stage 2 with the Invidia Catless Downpipe, Invidia Q300, and COBB SF Intake w/AirBox. I was having some boost creep issued and got talked into buying an Invidia Catted Downpipe which I have found hasn't helped the boost creep as much as I had hoped. I was planning on doing an E-Tune but decided that I would just wait an do a ProTune which brings me to present day. I have a ProTune at COBB Tuning Socal scheduled for the end of March which I am very exicted about. I am going to be going with a Stage 2+ set up which COBB estimates will make anywhere from 300-330AWHP and around 390TQ so that should be some fun power. I am going to get the following installed -

-Invidia Catless Downpipe (Q300 sounds too quiet catted)
-Tial 44mm EWG Kit (To fix boost creep)
-ProcessWEST TMIC (Don't want to cut up my bumper and want to stay with the OEM look until I go to Stage 3 if that ever happens)
-GrimmSpeed EBCS 3 Port
-Tomei UEL Headers (Buying them from a friend for a good price with 2k miles on them)

Doing new spark plugs is something that I have been debating about because shops all have different opinions on them so I think that I will go without them for now. I will be sure to post pictures and videos of the set up and hope that make good, reliable power let me know your imput and/or opinions!

I am of the opinion, do as the manual says, so you have leverage against the dealership in the event of a failure.

I'm patiently waiting to give my STI the beans.

Enjoy the car! And welcome to your new money pit!

Nice to see another youngin like I who takes care of their car and babies it. Im 19, and I have had my STi for 2 years and proved many doubters wrong about teenagers and fast cars.

Alright guys so I have some updates!
March 26, 2013 - Went down to COBB Tuning SoCal to get my Stage 2+ mods put on and get a protune. I was notified that I would not be able to get my headers installed because COBB did not tell me that my Tomei headers' 3-bolt flange will not work with the 2-bolt flange that is on their uppipe for my EWG set up. That bummed me out but I ended up getting the EWG installed and will have a 2-bolt flange welded onto my headers.

The car feels a lot smoother after the pro tune and pulls a lot better as I was hoping it would. I wasn't sure how loud the EWG would be but right after the tuner finished and approached me he said it was insanely loud and not to get myself arrested Upon my first drive I couldn't resist opening up the EWG and WOW it was intense! The sound is really hard to describe and it is insanely loud - it's awesome Hopefully I don't get sick of it

I was shooting for 315AWHP and anywhere around 360-370TQ with the headers and my final tune came in at 306AWHP and 334TQ. My car was hitting 315AWHP on the second the last tune (did 7 pulls) but since he was already maxing out my injectors he decided to tune more conservatively since I would be coming back anyway with the headers which I agreed with. On my AccessPORT tune, S and S# felt essentially the same, I actually preferred the feel of S because it pulled more consistent, S# seemed to feel to flimsy if that makes sense. With the protune, S and S# is a night and day difference. When I am in S mode it feels like my car did with the AccessPORT OTS Map except smoother but when I go into S#, it pulls a lot harder.

Reference -
S Mode - 295AWHP, 276TQ @13.3PSI
S# Mode - 306AWHP, 334TQ @18.0PSI

In conclusion, the car feels a lot stronger and I am happy with my set up, I just want to get new injectors, fuel pump, and UEL Headers (can't loose the rumble). Next power goal, 320AWHP, 360TQ!

Protune -

EWG From the Outside -

April 6, 2013 - Finally got around to putting on my JDM STI Shift Knob and JPM CoachWorks leather boot set with red stitching!

Sort of. Lately I have been thinking a lot about that car and miss the looks and how classy it looked. It also had a great overall feel but then I remember that that practicality just wasn't there for my only car at this point

I thought about 370z because my Maxima lasted me for 175k. Then I bought a hatch pbp WRX and I was thinking I made a wrong decision until ym brother friend shows up with his 370z with loud muffs.

Then we took it to the track. I as I pass. Though if he bolt on turbo, then I wouldn't be Just

370- Is cobb going to weld you a 2 port flange for your tomei UELH so you can use it in conjunction with the EWG set up?

I've been on the fence about doing this with mine as well. I am on the fence with the EL and UEL by tomei.. power gains are very good yet dont want to lose the boxer rumble!

What does COBB charge for a PRO Tune, I know each person may vary a bit, but what was your average cost ?

Nice car 370zforme!

I have a '12 WRX and I absolutely love it. All I need for stage three is a turbo upgrade (running 350whp/350flbs right now). Any plans on a wingless trunk? I think the small Wrx spoiler would look great on your STI! Oh and I feel you on the front plate thing here in VA. I have a Perrin relocation kit, but right now I'm just not using my front plate.

^^^^
I don't know how much 370zforme paid or his, but I paid $550.00 for my Cobb pro tune from Ptuning located in Manasas, Virginia.

sorry to burst your bubble... but STi wheels won't fit on WRX's or any other subaru. bolt pattern for STI's are 5x114.3 while WRX's and other subarus use a 5x100.
the only STI that used a 5x100, were the 2004 sti. idk why the American market changed to 5x114.3, all the JDM ones use 5x100... and why the USDM have a 2.5 instead of 2.0

Lots of new upgrades to post!

So I just got back from COBB Tuning SoCal and finished all of my bolt-on's and got tuned for E85. COBB had just re calibrated their mustang dyne so it was reading 18% lower than it was last time I was there - that's why the power gains don't seem as significant.

E85
S Mode - 319AWHP/351TQ @ 16.2psi
S# Mode - 362AWHP/411TQ @ 20.8psi

91 Octane
S Mode - 291AWHP/285TQ @ 12.1psi
S# Mode - 309AWHP/346TQ @ 18.1psi

The car feels like a night and day difference, I love it! It is also notable that I wanted to see how my engine was doing so I got a compression and leak down test. The results are as follows:

1 - 149/2%
2 - 151/2%
3 - 150/2%
4 - 145/3%

COBB told me that those were good numbers so that made me feel good about my car

My performance mods are these -

ProcessWest TMIC
GrimmSpeed EBCS
COBB SF Intake w/Airbox
Tial 44mm EWG
COBB Uppipe
Invidia Catless Downpipe
Invidia Q300 Catback
ID 1000cc Injectors
07 STI Fuel Pump Regulator
Perrin Big Tube EL Headers
Crawford Air Oil Seperator
GrimmSpeed Heat Shield
Deatschwerks 265lph Fuel Pump
NGK IX Spark Plugs

Now time for videos / pics!

Tuning with 91octane / E85 @ COBB SoCal on 7/18/13

More pics to come and I also did some cosmetics that i'll post as soon as my side skirts come in
