Default WRX Koni inserts: Who has them and whre di you get them and who has them in stock?

I am trying to find a set of these but alas, none of the vendors i've contacted (both i-club specific and otherwise) don't stock them or are just out and can't get them. For those of you who have these in your possession and/or on your vehicle, where and when did you buy them? If you are a vendor, do you have any in stock?

Thanks,
Jon.

I have them. I bought them from Tirerack (www.tirerack.com).

Here is how the installation went: Koni Install

Feel free to e-mail me or Pm me if you have any questions.
For the record, I am using stock springs, have a 5-speed wagon, and Falken Azenis tires on '99 RS rims.

great install page paul, couple of questions:

is there anything like a rubber boot that keeps dirt from getting in between the Koni insert and the original strut tube? konis for some reason are always rusting on me because dirt and road grime collect in little areas and cause rust/corrosion, etc. see pic below that is from your install page:

and is there anything that screws into the bottom of the Koni insert that keeps it "bolted" to the original strut housing? see next pic. it looks as if there should be a bolt with a rather wide head that should hold the insert on the housing...

did the inserts change the ride height of your car any? i can't imagine that it would unless there is less travel in the insert vs old shock.

1. The rubber boot is shown in the first picture you linked too. The Koni insert is not hammered into the strut yet, so all the "yellow" you see belongs inside the housing, and then the rubber boot there comes up to the top to create a seal. I also put the stock shock boot back in, so when everything is reinstalled you can't see any difference.

2. The hole drilled in the bottom of the strut is for a large bolt you install which keeps the insert in. It is also a "press fit". We had to use a huge sledge hammer to get the insert all the way into the housing. The "top hat" nut also keeps everything together and keep the insert from coming out.

3. Ride height didn't change as far as I can tell. I am still using stock springs.

My directions kind of skip a few steps. I only made them to give people an idea of what is involved. It will be much more clear when you actually do it yourself.
