Please tell me your tractor is Miami Blue.

My then 5 year old broke his tibia/fibula right after moving back up to Oregon on Father's Day weekend and it took 5 resets and casts to get it pointed the right way. Lots of doctors and money. Ruined his birthday and entire summer leading up to kindergarten in a new school with no friends. But he was resilient and powered through with Gran Turismo 2 on PS1 and lots of Lego.

We will be your GT2 and Lego, bud. Get well.

Jelly of the surfing. My main bucket to list right now. I want to learn before I get too old. My Dream since a kid.

It is going around. I tore the muscle that connects bicep to forearm doing curls. Partial tear all be way through it. My orthopedic surgeon wants to do stem cell injection. Make them out of my own blood with some kind of centrifuge stem cell machine and try that first. Next step is to get them out of hip/pelvis. If that doesn't work, surgery with a screw into the muscle. F me, stem cells aren't cheap and insurance don't wanna pay sheot for them.

40's, lifting, guess it was bound to happen. Cracked 3 ribs on leg press two years ago. Better than fast food and obesity though

I did PRP on my elbow from bursitis due to decades of skullcrushers - fixed in ~4 mos. Also did it after some minor tears in the tops of my forearms from two-finger pull-ups (rock climbing). Fixed in ~6 mos. Look into PRP - was about 1K per treatment at Stanford, which was significantly cheaper than stem cell at the time. Took 1 treatment for the elbow and 2 for the forearms. Now I use a laser I bought for the horses to keep me loose - thought it was BS until I tried it, but it actually works. Mine is 4MDMedical brand.

Thanks everybody, I can take the ankle crap, but I take care of my father, he has dementia then he fell broke his hip about a year ago. He is with us, he is happy, I take care of him 7 /24, now I'm screwed, don't know what I'm going to do. I
If put him nursing home, he'll be dead in 2 weeks. I promised him I would always take care of him. He left me Everything..everything, I have power of attorney on all his stuff etc. my close friend came today we did him but that won't last. I could hire some one to come in. But last time I did that it was a night mire.. any way I'm going for surgery one week, and hoping two after that I could start putting weight on it some, then I could take care of him. I don't drink or drug anymore 15 years good shape, but I smoke, theorthopid said smokers don't heal. Quit ASAP,I'm trying but I'm F ING. stressed out, I got to smoke, the paper they sent me home with from ER, went on and about smoking. You only had one bone and it took two months after surgery, before you could put weight on it, or you just mean to totally done walking. I got to chill, I'm having panic attacks about it. I'm like Tony Soprano

Ah man and they heel fast little kids and it took all summer. I think them bones are worse then the ankle bones. One guy on ham radio said he broke one bone in his ankle, they just set it sent him in cast, but he could still walk on it. Sure rub in..not me I've got real bad luck you won't believe what I went thru right before I retired from service. I knew in back my head something would happen before I would get home. It did

Damn, hang in there man. Never heard that about smokers not healing so try to chill. My mom is same way, the family is taking care of her. You can hire people to come in and help but it costs a fortune especially if he needs night care. Might be ok if it's just a couple months.

Avanti, pm me if you need any advice or tips.
Unfortunately, the foot is the hardest injury to fully recover from, due to its distance from the heart and gravity. It will be swollen for months. But you will get better.

This was day two after the cast was removed. So, about 23 days post surgery:

Ice and elevation are key. Which drives me nuts because I'm used to being so damn active.

...and take the pain meds!

PRP (Didn't know the acronym) is what he wants to do first. F I had needles though. Will be such a fun experience!

Costco sells Nicotine Lozenges. (gum sucks). They have them in 4mg or 2mg lozenges. They work and they taste good all things considering. I've put several people on them, and the results have been good. 4mg will give you the "hit" you need. But if you drink (alcohol), the smoking urge will never, ever, go away.

I'm getting there. I should be done with my house at the end of next year (full renovation). After that it will get all my attention and all my vacation time(and $). I want to start out with a school/vacation on some weak waves in either CA or HI. Not a ripmeoff resort, I'm talking, someone cool, with a school/lessons, and a guest house or shack to stay in for a week. I'm already training hard, but need to get back in the pool for laps. I want to go to Maui bad, and I never want to see Oahu.

Haven't been for about 10 yrs, but Hemingway hung out there, and Gringos hadn't heard about it yet. Super simple - real people, real food, etc. Costs nothing once you're there, and it's an easy flight from Houston. Don't go there if you like Vegas or South Beach.

Roatan and the Bay islands in Honduras are even closer and also awesome and super cheap, but no surfing, and the food blows. Scuba, snorkeling, etc. excellent.

My Honduran buddy says the Bay Islands are great.

I just don't want to die while I'm in Honduras given his many stories of the dangers and narcos and how much gringos stick out.

Roatan is relatively safe, islands too, but less so. Stay in the resorts or in West End I think it's called - raping and pillaging isn't allowed there because the tourists would stop coming. I'm sure your Honduran buddy knows.

For fearful gringos, just stay at Meridian and never leave. Next on the list would be Infinity Bay - hotel next door has the one decent restaurant. Ye ole rape and pillage is not allowed there. But if you go anywhere you're not supposed to be, aka anywhere locals can reach by car or foot without gates and security, you will be defiled.
