Default How to install aftermarket stereo in '02 WRX

I want to upgrade with a complete stereo system. Does anybody have complete instructions on how to remove and install an aftermarket(kenwood) CD player into a '02 wrx.

There is a lot of information about this. Search through this forum and you will get a lot of threads discussing this.

Basically, you will:

1: Remove the plastic faceplate around the head unit
2: Remove the stereo
3: Buy an aftermarket harness to plug into the subaru stock wiring harness on one end, and then solder the other end to the kenwood output wires.
4: Hook everything up and put it back together.

It's pretty simple, just search through this car audio forum.

Good luck!

You are not going to find complete step by step instructions what you are looking for exactly. But you can get the basics from searching on here and the instructions that came with your Kenwood.
This site has some good pics on how to take off the panels and the factory radio.

When you upgrade your speakers you can also get the spacers from them.
Good luck!
