Anyone ever replace their oilpan?
Ive had a dent in mine for a bit now, and figured next oil change I ought to replace it. Seems pretty straight forward, wondering if anyone has done theirs and can confirm that it is

I managed to very mildly dent mine this weekend
not enough to have to replace it though. I swapped the pan on the SR. |

if its anything like the old school subies, youll have to lift your engine up about 5". i replaced the gasket on mine and the damn thing still leaks.

I had to replace mine on my old engine, had to lift the engine an inch or so, but not too bad. Cleaning off the old gasket material was the hardest part. New pan, new gasket, 4.5 quarts of oil and I was set to go.

yeah just have to lift up the engine a little. Tip, use a 1/4" drive socket, extension, and U joint. Makes it so much easier. The bolts should be a 10mm. Use some gasket remover and a razor blade/scraper to get the old stuff off of the bottom of the motor. Use RTV for the new pan, don't put too much on, just an even small bead all the way around. Put it on halfway tight, then wait a couple minutes, then tighten all the way. That's what I had done when I had a dented pan, never leaked.
