Default Winter wheel fitment

Hi All,

Just looking for some insight on sizing winter steelies.

Currently got a 2014 impreza hatch running stock 205/50R17 on 17x7+55 wheels. Lowered on tein coilovers.

Looking on dropping size for some steelies for this winter. I've looked at the specs of OEM wheels for the different trims and it looks like the base came with 15x6+48 on 195/65R15 and the mid trim came with 16x6.5+55 on 205/55R16.

The two steelies options I was able to locate is 15x6+55 and 16x6.5+48. Will both work with my car and if they do, would i be better off dropping one size or two?

the 15's with General arctic 12s comes to around 550$ CAD and the 16's with same tires are around $700 CAD.

Thanks!!

16 x 6.5 +48 will work fine but whether or not you use 15s or 16s is ultimately up to you.

Either will work

Since 205 / 55 - 17 is your OEM tire size, the closest 15" tire you should use is

195 / 65 - 15
You are not get anything closer to your OEM sized tire. This will keep your odometer accurate so you won't be able to tel the difference.

You can put this on a 5.5" to 7.5" wide wheel, but picking a wheel width in the middle is usually best.

You could have found this out yourself by using the Tire Rack website to find tire sizes and wheel widths.
