ok, so I tried to read the whole thread, but the pissing contest really just confused everything.

when my WRX motor pops, can I put in a EJ22T short with my WRX heads? I know my CR may drop, but I can make up for that in with more boost or maybe those phase 2 headgaskets to bring the CR back to 8:1. can anyone answer this question?

Its only a question of money. If you have very little, then ej22t it is. If have enough money, then wrx is a probably a better bet (much newer).

But I guess if you have piles of money to burn then the ej22t is the better because you could just use it for the block and totally, rebuild the engine with better everything.

But then again with lots of money, the block isn't going to make nearly as much difference (if any at all) as your engine management, heads and other things.
