EZ's are better balanced than EJ's too so... it's a non-issue.

Before I keep forgetting further... Anyone interested in an untouched Link G4 harness? I bought I brand new for trade with a friend who bought my Link before realizing he should just do a 207 in his car with a USDM ECU. So I got the unit off him and he had gotten it off a Legacy with a 3.0L so I already have a pre-wired loom to use. That means... I have an extra one... Figured someone might want a back up oright find a used Link and want a fresh harness to do. Let me know!

Got a pic? I know the G4 and the V88 (which is what I have) are supposed to be the same thing in different packaging, but I might be interested if it looks like it'll work for me.

way ahead of you. it doesn't

the only OTS pulley for ez's is some weird obscure thing from japan that's only advertised in yen. was on one of the legacy forum threads way back when they tried to get a big enough group buy for an existing pulley manufacturer to make one. never got enough (had 15 iirc, needed 30).

if you were to make them you'd certainly sell a couple dozen pretty quickly i reckon.

See that's what would shoot the price up... :-/ But we 'll see. I want it and other things made, so it'll likely happen. Even if just as a test/sample piece on my car.

What else did you want to make? I have pretty good facilities and I am decent at fabrication I might be able to make some of it including the pully.

I'm pretty well covered at the shop and handy with fabbing stuff myself too. Thanks though. Mostly some first gen specific stuff and a few H6 specific things between the EG and EZ's

So guess what I did... I stopped at the shop since I needed to grab some stuff out of my car. So while I was there I dropped off the 3.0L pulley and talked about figuring things out. He'll start a general drawing and we can start making sure where there needs to be any tight tolerances for clearance of the timing cover and such.

Before I say yes your going to have to convince me that we def don't need a damper in it to take out vibrations. I heard of some weird/bad stuff happening to engines because they don't have one. Even the inline sixes which are just as well balance as the h6 need a dampener because of the forces on the crank shaft. This is all based on what I've heard/read so if anyone has any info id be very interested to hear it.

Look at all the EJ Pulleys. Only the GrimmSpeed makes a dampened EJ one.

don't need it man. none of the EJ ones are and our engines are actually better balanced than the ej's.

Horizontally opposed motors are pretty smooth due to their design and 6 cylinders balance that all out even more. EVO's and other in-lines will tend to run into issues pushing higher RPMs but now our motors.

SOA was actually sent an email about this a few (well like 5 or 6 now) years ago and said the stock pulleys aren't harmonic dampeners. It's on here somewhere if you feel like fishing for it but you'll be fine without one unless you're making all the horsepower and feel like being overly precautious

I'll keep people posted as soon as he starts the prototype drawing and can figure out materials and everything.

And as for the "unless pushing serious horsepower" at that point you are building the motor and unless you are being careless you have having the entire rotating assembly balanced.

I just pass a rod on my EJ257 engine so I plan to replace it by a forged EZ30D engine.

The question is that I have the Vipec V44 of my old setup, and I want not buy an other ECU for fun! So do you think the V44 will be able to run the EZ30D engine?

Unfortunately no. The V44 doesn't have enough built into it to run two more cylinders. Maybe ViPec will do an exchange or maybe they it Link make an extender to switch some other function into more cylinder controls?
