So I ordered my carbon fiber hood from W1. It should be here by the end of March. I'm still trying to find someone to weld in the radiator core support. My headlights got here a couple of days ago. I went and got some bulbs today and the lights are good to go. I got a new alternator belt and sold the stock gauges. I got a pocket to replace the gauges, too. I also went to pick up some parts from Chaplins today. Here's all the stuff I got. The only thing I'm missing is the hood and the other fender, which shouldn't take too long. Then I should be able to get it licensed.

Today I put the pocket in place of the gauges I sold. I replaced the alternator belt, also. All of the wheels were already off and the car was up on stands so I was taking the fender liners out and stuff. I just so happened to notice the struts were barely hanging on. Bolt of the knuckle bolts were barely on there. The rear also has camber bolts, so apparently the last driver did some autocross or something? I tightened those down. The sway bars also weren't hooked up at all. Shandra brought me her summer wheels for her WRX so I threw those on the RS. I let it warm up all the way and took it for a drive and it drives nice. It idles perfect and I can't wait to get it going. I put the bumper beam and some of the radiator core support stuff on. None of it is fastened down but I put it on just to take a look at how it all fit. The headlights work! We also got joined by a few little friends at the end :P. Here are some pictures I took:

Yeah these ducks are too damn funny. They've come by a few times I've been working on the car. The other day it looked like they were nesting in the ice. I think they got lost, someone started feeding them, and now they just like it here.

Well I haven't really ordered anything else or done anything else on the RS but I've been reading a lot. I found some coil overs I can get that fit the STI knuckles but also have the RS top hats. I'll be selling the struts and springs I've got and I'll be ordering the coil overs before too long. I also went over to Prodriven Autos place and will be getting a bunch of stuff from him soon. I'll at least be getting the whole wiring harness from front to back, dash, dash support, gas tank, and a few other things. I won't be installing them for a bit but oh well. I'm reeeeeally trying to find a set of front and rear seats from a v5 sti, too. Also, I'm thinking about 08 BBS instead of those spec c wheels now. Way cheaper and still 18x8.5 and I really like the look. We'll see though.

Okay so I put my 05-07 powder coated BBS up for sale as well as my stock STI struts and Cobb springs. Here are the wheels and tires I'm looking at getting now. Also here is a picture of the coil overs. I only get paid once a month so I have to wait a couple of weeks to buy anything else.

Hey those coilovers say Evo on them, I don't know about this. Which dash are you going with?

Those 18x8.5's would present some "unique challenges" as far as fitment on your GC. If you managed to get them in there they would look freakin awesome though.

Are you going to run Sti lateral links?
Do you know what the offset the 08 sti wheels are?

Yeah STI lateral links and control arms. I know it's going to be tough to fit them. Going coil overs will give me more clearance on the inside and I'm going to have to roll and go super stiff to keep from rubbing. There are quite a few people running 245s so I'll try to make it work.

Cusco tranny mounts, clear corners, motor mounts, and hood struts got here.

Our setups will be pretty similar then. I did'nt gain any clearance with my coilovers despite what everyone told me. You will def want camber bolts in the back and whatever other issue pops up you can either fix with spacers or a fender roller

I have about 2 mm clearance on the inside and probably 2 or 3 mm on the outside of the tire. 8.5 w/245 is pretty much the max with a hard fender roll.

EDIT: Ohh yeah, all that above is for rear only. Could probably fit 10" wide in the front

Okay good to know. I will be running stiff as hell and cutting out the rear fenders for some extra clearance. I'm not sure on the offset but some spacers might be involved. They are 18x8.5 with a +55 offset. I might need to pull a little and I won't be able to slam it but it should work.

Doesn't look like it. The RS is going down to the body shop tomorrow to get that core support welded in and I don't think it'll be back in time. I'm going to try to get the wagon driving and bring it down to Shandra's, though. I can at least start pulling stuff off of that.

iirc
the old school method for making bigger tires to fit is to set the camber bolt to positive and the strut top to negative

TiC fender braces and Gimmick hood struts got here today. Cusco motor and tranny mounts are here too. Oh and I picked up the new fender at Chaplin's this afternoon. The body shop guy brought up his flatbed and took the RS to his place. He thinks maybe the next week or so and he'll have it back to me. After I get it back I should be able to get it licensed and actually start driving it again. At that point I plan on taking it to Shandra's and gutting it.

Not much of an update. Everything is delayed and I'm sick. Sucky. Sold my headunit and trying to find a buyer for my black BBS. Oh, I bought these:
