In Kanto plain (Tokyo, Yokohama) they advertise all the dairy and produce from northern Japan as Hokkaido milk (or whatever). When I went to Hokkaido and asked for something as "Hokkaido xxx" all I got was stares, then I was told that there was no such thing as "Hokkaido" it's just whatever it is...
