ASGA Spirit STI Replica Wheels from Canada - 18x8 +40 21lbs - Silver

I do like black...

But black wheels on a black car is too Alaskan and less OEM. If it were WRB...

or even white still...

then maybe... but even in those colors...

silver is kinda nice.

Yeah, you're a wheel snob, though. "Will they assplode?! OMG!" If you're doing something that causes a regular wheel to implode on itself... I guess it just comes with the territory. Like, if you're going to race, get racing wheels. If you're going to parking lot pimp (like me), then these wheels will be fine. And when I mean race, I mean like full time-attack car with roll cage and all that. For anything else I have no clue why anyone really cares about wheel quality if they're not cast from the heart of China.

I should refresh myself with the wheel/tire thread on ft86 but I guess those aren't too bad weight wise. Maybe powdercoat gold?

I need those in black. Then my car will look like the one in the fancy wood floor garage

$150 for WeatherTech Digital Fit floor mats shipped to Alaska. Blah. They're proud of those things. I got the badge replacement for them from Diode Dynamics. Not sure when I'll get the floor mats. I got other things to do.

Silver STI reps on a black car will look slick IMO. Or PC'd gold. Your choice.

The WeathetTech logo sticker on the side. Barely held down with any glue, I just ripped mine off. Haven't felt like replacing them with anything.

Right?! You smell what I'm cookin'.

So it appears that according to cars101.com's maintenance schedule at this point my BRZ just needs the brake fluid replaced. I'll probably swap transmission fluid too. Pads will be replaced soon and oil change will happen eventually.

I'm thinking of getting the extended warranty. I'm almost at 32k miles. Thoughts?

I will never get an extended warranty. Statistically you lose, but you always have some schlub touting it's virtues because of some anecdote. If the car is a lemon or some other issue you will find out within the standard warranty. This is even more so if yer doing mods. I get into arguments on the Raptor boards because all these good 'ol boys throwing away money for "peace of mind" and then modding.

I did the VIP program so had my price and paid cash, but still had to sit with the "finance / clerical" person to sign the paperwork and take my check. This is also when I got to listen to the long winded speech and offerings of all the amazing protection I could buy and said "no thanks" - I actually had to stop from laughing, because as soon as I declined everything her attitude shifted and was snippy. She then had me initial a bunch of other things letting me know everything I chose not to protect myself with.

So uh, I say no.

I'm normally against them too, but I guess I'm wondering if I should be more worried about Time Owned versus Mileage? I've only had it 14 months now, but almost at 32k miles. So I guess I'm just wondering if it's really a matter of TIME if something breaks down? Most people seem to have stuff happen closer to their 3 year deadline.

I dunno, entropy is a bitch. Miles are what matter to me, and what kind they are. My truck is about 2 yrs old but it has 9k miles. You would think "oh boy, low miles!" but those are some hard, abusive and fun miles.

I don't think some 3 yr age line in the sand is something to worry about if that's what you're saying. I just look at it as in that anything I fix when warranty expires but could have been covered with extended is going to be way less than the cost of it by far.

On the topic of floor mats, my weathertech badge seems fine and really down in that square.. maybe I got some good glue?

Yeah, I see what you're saying. Subaru was offering it to me for around $800, which was part of the appeal, but I know me: I'd complain about spending that $800 on "What If"'s. I can't really imagine not being able to afford any repair I didn't see coming if I was abusing the car or whatever. I've had transmissions and short blocks repaired and engine replacements. Also heater elements in the dash. Thousands of dollars. Not many surprises left, especially coming from a new, cheap RWD parts bin sports car.

You should customize that badge, yo! Make is scream, "ME!"

Please get the silver ones. It took me so long to decide on the blacks. Silver would fit Alaska much more

Look how short it is. Obviously Japanese. Of course I'm not tall, so I would accept this. And that floor screams:

True. True. That's what I'm going for. I like taking pictures of my car and black wheels are a pain to take pics of in most situations. Appreciate the vote!

Push button start: Year round bling
WeatherTech floor mats: Winter time shine

I was thinking that! The Alaska Twin! But I don't like the swoop of the STI side skirts. Although I was thinking of getting the kit anyways because of those knockoffs. Now it seems those aren't available anymore. I haven't seen them on Bayson R's site. Jon's Motoring is still selling the STI lip, though.

I know white isn't an option on that wheel list up top.....but your car would look pretty epic white on black especially in those STi replicas.

Man I hope my car sells so I can get a BRZ soon. There is a black one and a galaxy blue pearl for sale at the dealer by me.

Black car with white wheels is a tough sell. My mom's coworker had a 2007 STI that was black with white wheels. She hated it, and she doesn't usually have opinions of cars. Here are examples:

Which car are you having trouble selling?
