yes the price was a bit scary at first, but when getting a whole car, in two pieces, you get EVERYTHING. i mean EVRYTHING. its worth it in my opinion.

thanks again guys. cant wait for it to arrive back in Atlanta, GA.
Mind saying how scary the price was?

not beyond reasonable. still a great price considering what i got. on the RA i bought were some Cusco Zero2s, Fujitsubo EQL headers, and a MonsterSport flywheel.

just make sure you have atleast 10-12k if you are hoping to get a RA or TypeR whole car.

and Scary...... Scary Accelleration!

Did I mention Frighting Speed!

Only 2 people have driven it and I will not let anyone else until the owner. because this car is like " CRACK" once driven your daily ride becomes sooo disapointing it is hard to get in it!

I tore out the RS interior today. AC was easier to remove I think, but the big bar was harder. Plus theres about twice as much wiring!

Default Rusty nuts are teh ghey

[rant]So I was hoping to get the RS engine out today--no dice. It's only supposed to be an hour or two, but not if you spend 4 hours trying to get a nut off the manifold!!! Seriously, did the previous owner just weld this sucker on? I've tried pb blaster, a breaker bar, an impact wrench, I've even dremmeled away half the nut--IT STILL WON'T MOVE--and now I'm covered in little metal shards. I guess I'll spend the majority of tomorrow dremmeling away the other half [/rant]

just unbolt all of the crossmembers, and the rear control arm mounts, struts, and the pitch stop, then drop it all out the bottom. no need to take the exhust mani out then.

I seem to have hit a wall on getting the RS guts out. I won't be getting anything done until I figure out 1) how to get the front boots and half shafts disconnected from the trans. and 2) the 12mm bolts holding the differential to the prop shaft are pretty stuck, and they're so close to the connector that you can't use anything but an open wrench to get to them. I suppose I could just cut through them, but then whoever gets my rear diff will have to extract the cut bolts.

lower the whole assembly to the ground onto something that rolls, and raise the front of the car enough to get the engine and such out from under the car.

its possible, casue thats how i did it. way easier, put the whole STi subframe motor tranny assembly in the car that way too.

didnt touch axles, hubs, calipers, anything, it all went in at the same time.

You've got to raise the front pretty high to do that. What did you use?

a high lift jack and that was ontop of 2 old wheels. but that was to get it up iirc, i had 4 guys to lower it down on to jack stands low enough to jack the engine tranny crossmember combo up into the car. may have used them to raise it up too, dont remember. i had the jack under the engine, and a 4wheeled dolly under the tranny to move it easier. jacked the whole thing up, put the nuts for the crossmember on finger tight, jacked the tranny up to get it lined up, and bolted in. the rear control arm mounts were the ones that were hardest, the bushings are really stiff.

so, you need to bolt up the crossmember, the rear control arm mounts, tranny crossmember, pitchstop, and thats about it, and with anything, be careful and take your time.
