The RA is a special STi version- it is essentially a stripped-down four door bodyshell... no A/C, no power windows or door locks, no radio, and can be had with no ABS or power steering. They usually get a slightly different engine and most models had the adjustable center differential. The type RA and the type R (same deal, just a coupe bodyshell) are models used specifically to be stripped down for racing, and both the WRC and the 22B are/were based on R/RA bodyshells. I have no idea where you found a type HA . You can find Impreza GT's, Impreza Turbo's, Impreza RS (turbo, limited edition, found only in Switzerland), RB5's, 22B's, P1's, 555 Edition, and lots others, but the US gets the shaft on most special editons .

I must misread it somehow unless I was thinking Type HAHAHAHA

Anyway, in reading through some of the vendor sales there are references to this type or that type. Dangit, half the time I just get in my car and drive knowing only what it says in the trunk lid as to what car I have. I'm glad I don't have a mazdarx7....there's model designations that just drive me up the wall.

Ok, so what's the model designation for the USDM WRX sedan and/or wagon version?

Some differences I have noted from owning my RA(old):

- no rear spoiler
- no spotlights
- no air-con
- no central-locking
- no electric windows
- no abs brakes
- no airbags
- no car radio
- no alarm/immobiliser
- no handholds (by head)
- no sound deadening material
- very close ratio gearbox
- 5 fuel injectors
- bucket seats
- Nardi steering wheel
- no centre rear seatbelt
- stiffer suspension
- manually operated IC water spray
- aluminium bonnet and boot
- front and rear LSD
- lower compression blueprint STi engine (8.0:1)
- more agressive cam profile with higher redline
- closed deck engine block (for pre '95 RA's I belive)
- quick-rack steering
- adjustable centre diff (for newer ra's)
- roof vent (for newer ra's)

I have heard that RA's also have light-weight glass and light weight chassis, but I can't confirm this. I never heard of an RA coming without power steering from stock though.
