Default Production numbers?

I read online that there were only 25 legacy Sport Sedans made with the manual transmission in 1993.
I read that in the worldwide market, Only the USDM LEGACY got the 2.2 bore turbocharged engine! I have read that the touring wagon in america ONLY came in Auto, and more than 50% of the sedans were auto.
It seems logical therefore that the ONLY way to have a 2.2 turbo and manual trans. OEM from subaru is to buy the 22b or a us market legacy sport sedan with the stick.
How rare are the BC turbo legacys? (sport sedan and touring wagon)

Not that rare. Check here bbs.legacycentral.org The subject is very touchy so be prepared to be flamed if you go in talking about how rare the car is. I can tell you that I've had about 7 or so of these cars in various years, the chance of me having 7 of 200 cars ever brought to the U.S. is very slim.

I read that in the worldwide market, Only the USDM LEGACY got the 2.2 bore turbocharged engine! Other than the 22B, correct! I have read that the touring wagon in america ONLY came in Auto correct again, and more than 50% of the sedans were auto. more like 75%

OEM? true. How rare are the BC turbo legacys? (sport sedan and touring wagon) Hard to say, the turbo models usually got better taken car of then the momand pop mobiles. You can still find them if you look., there always seems to be a few for sale at LegacyCentral.org
Are you in the market? Also, manual trans swaps are easy and well documented, so don't let an auto scare you away fom a SS or TW if the rest of it is clean.

according to wikipedia there were 824,612 first gen (89-94) legacies sold/produced in the usa. even if only 0.5% were sport sedans (random conservative guess) thats over 4000 across 4 years (usdm turbo legacy was only made in 91-94) so i doubt there were only 25 of anything in 1 production year

iirc.. 93 ss stick, is like the arcadia green of 98 rs's, they just didnt make alot of them.
i want to see if anyone can source some real data.
i know the 95 mr2 hard top if RARE"1995: ~356 sold. Last year available in the US. No Turbo models available in California-emissions regulation states. Revised intercooler.

In the US the 94-95 are the rarest and most expensive versions of the MR2. Most MR2 Turbo were equipment with the T-top roof, fewer with a removable glass sunroof. The hardtop is rare in the US, and is highly sought by racers because of their lighter weight and stiffer chassis. In 1993 approximately 10 hardtop Turbos were sold in the US.
"

iirc.. i read that a 95 mr2 hard top black oem was Super Duper rare

Dear Mr. Danilowicz:

Thank you for visiting the Subaru Web site, and for your inquiry. We do
not
have the figures as to how many of these vehicles are still registered.
I am
not sure as to how you could acquire this information.

Our Distribution Department did, however, provide the information on how
many
of the Legacy Sport Sedan AWD models were sold in the United States from
the
'91 through the '94 model years.

In the '91 model year, 58 5-speeds were sold, and 149 automatics were
sold.
In the '92 model year, 6 5-speeds were sold, and 5 automatics were
sold. In
the '93 model year, 25 5-speeds were sold, and 45 automatics were sold.
In
the '94 model year, 170 5-speeds were sold, and 230 automatics were
sold.
This is a total of 688 of these vehicles sold from the '91 through the
'94
model years.

Thank you for the opportunity to be of assistance. Best wishes!!

John J. Mergen

YOUR ORIGINAL MAIL:

hello, I own a 91 subaru legacy turbo sport sedan. I have heard that my
model is one of the rarer cars on the road today. I usually see about
one
every two to three months on average. My question is how many were made
from
91-94 per year and how many are still registered today?

thank you.

Fuel for the fire, these numbers from SOA this morning (edited for format):

Thank you for visiting the Subaru Web site and for your message. As has been provided, the following are the production numbers for the 1993 Legacy Turbo Sedan. We do not have Sales figures; but, I would assume that they were all sold.

I have the production numbers for the '91 - '94 Legacy Turbo models:
'91 5-speed - 58, '91 automatic - 149,
'92 5-speed - 6, '92 automatic - 5,
'93 5-speed - 25, '93 automatic - 45,
'94 5-speed - 170, '94 automatic - 230.

This is a total of 688 vehicles.

Well, it's either digging for fossils...

or the inevitable "search noob" in a new thread.
