Yeah, kinda looked like power steering or coolant leak working in that front passenger area.

STI didn't have it easy this year, but they decimated the others in SP3T. Too bad for the many pit stops, could have really dominated overall with all that rain.

Sounds like it was a fun race to watch. Also sounds like the team had a lot of dumb mistakes...or just bad luck.

Nerve-racking!

I'd say bad luck was more in line than dumb mistakes. I'd be interested to know exactly what happened in that last hour and if the insane amount of water they have been driving through up until that point had anything to do with it.

I'm always so impressed with the lack of emotions within the team when things get sketchy. The drivers, the mechanics, the management, it's just insane that on the outside, they show no signs of trouble, as they came within 15 minutes of losing a 24 hour race. Loved seeing all the emotion afterwards though, especially when Yamauchi finally got back to the pits and was reunited with the other drivers. So much fun to watch!!!

For those that are interested, Subaru(Japan) will be taking orders(starting 5/18) for a limited time of the commemorative T-shirts from this year. Usually you can order through japanparts.com as well but I didn't see anything on their site yet.

I'd have bought an XL if I only knew how to.

Yes, I saw they don't go on sale 5/18. Guess I'll have to check it out and use google translate Friday.

I think it's really when you do so much racing, you just get used it. At least I did as the design engineer watching races from home. Ok, so I did get a bit amped watching the Ford GT finish our LeMans in 2016. It was more of a relief though.

I like how they are selling the official gaffer tape used to keep the body panels together in a 24 hr race. Oh, and $400 hand-crafted shoes.

Japan Parts has posted a preliminary page for the 24hr Nurburgring shirts here:
[url="https://www.japanparts.com/parts/list.php?skwd=subaru+t+shirt&x=0&y=0"]

2 to 3 month wait but you get a small discount. Going to order 2.

Weird, I get shirt descriptions but no images load. Guess they didn't load them from the STi site.

$38 tee shirt before $20-180 shipping...guess I'll get one. 90-99 day wait

Open the part page on japan parts, then scroll down a little and the photos are in a weird tab, they switched to the new format a few years ago and it sucks
