Yep. I agree with you as well on Lewis. F1 is a weird business and to a point a silly farce.

What I mean with Vettel's winning car is that it was sort of at the level of that BrawnGP car. Jenson did good, but that car was simply head and shoulders above the rest. All Vettel needed to do was beat his teammate, which the team basically did it for him; to the point that Webber would rather retire the same as Nico; he beat the team, his teammate, and told the team to stuff it.

People complain about the so called drama Alonso brings; but yet he only had drama with Lewis, who "coincidentally" also had drama with Jenson and Nico... both of whom beat him!! (convincingly). Of course no drama with Bottas, who the team principal calls a perfect wingman and keeps him on a yr to yr contract. Funny.

On the other hand, Alonso finished tied with Lewis, in a team where the principal said "We were racing Fernando"

Anyways, the one main difference I find between Lewis and Vettel, is that if the car is not outstanding, Vettel goes completely annonymous for a whole season and more... Whereas Lewis can disappear in a couple of races here and there, but for the most part, he wrings whichever car he has and makes headlines.... still got beaten by Nico. Would have been beaten even worse if Nico had the same support.

To me it's a pity we cant see the likes of Nico, Webber, maybe Ricciardo and even Alo truly racing... in exchange for the sport's fresh face self-entitled prima donnas such as Vettel, Verstappen, etc. What a load of BS. Thumbs down to F1 on that.

bring back Montoya - he was the only guy who had the balls to challenge Schumacher. Everyone else was intimidated by him.

Yes 100%.
I was going to bring him up on that previous post, but felt it was too old history

By the way.... nothing specifcally against Vettel or Max. They are good. But Vettel is definitely not worth 4x and Max is still far from deserving all that hype around him.

Here's the whole interview with Christian Horner. I don't think this has been posted yet, just referenced in articles. If so, sorry for the double post!:

I'm not surprised.

He can continue collecting a nice paycheck, but his dream of a 3rd world title has been reduced to fantasy quite a while ago.
Not a particularly bold prediction for one of the oldest drivers on the grid in a subpar car to walk away, but I think it was the right one. All there is in F1 for him right now is a nice paycheck and the thrill of making it into Q3.

No need to be googling around gaining street cred for dragging that Mclaren into points.....
