I will be owning this ride until it's fully paid for or it dies, I have really enjoyed this car regardless of the lack of ponies under the hood and has done it's job as my DD very well.

Fully agree with everyone. Car is great and has been more then I hoped. Driving it until it dies. Plan on replacing it with a crosstrek when it does.
I keep upgrading things on it as it becomes available and it makes the car that much better. More ponies would be great but in reality you can only (your supposed to ) drive the speed limit, while I haven't heard of many laws about taking turns to quickly!
Suspension mods really help the driving characteristics and still more options to upgrade and play with.

Also this car has been fun to mod, the first one I have ever modded. I also have had the pleasure to share this forum with lots of great like minded subi owners whose wisdom and experience has taught me a lot about my car. Cheers to you all... oh the feels...

Does anyone with a crosstrek have the full color center LCD like the forester? A bunch of people were arguing with me that it does, but I know someone with a limited and it doesn't have it.

My 14 has the full colour LCD information screen.
The model package in Canada was the Touring package.

Canada doesn't count, they got LED turn signal mirrors and other stuff in the base 2012 Impreza so you can't compare the models based on features.

Well the base model impreza has that same display pictured. I think if you go on subaru website you can check which model car has what features. or cars101.com

What do you count as well equipped? I bought a manual sport premium just over a year and a half ago. It isn't top of the line but I think it's a decently equipped car.

Until 2017 I guess, seems even the limited didn't have a lot of features competing cars had. Basic reflector headlights, heated seats, etc. Those are like basic extremely cheap options on most other cars. Most other cars have projectors and large, actually useful entertainment systems, etc

Then again, of the competing cars, I don't think any of them have AWD, and if they do it's probably a $3-5,000 option. So I guess you're trading a basic interior for "HAHA **** YOU LOSERS" when you pass them at 60mph in a 5 inches of snow. Hilarious to watch a pack of cars try to get up a steep snowy/icy hill with FWD. I don't think I'll ever buy an FWD car. Maybe RWD for fun but most likely 4/AWD, even if I move somewhere dry and sunny.

You won't find a newer manual sedan in anything but base trim.

Same here. I was told Subaru could custom build me such a car. I wonder if they can do the same for the '17. If the DI FB20+5MT powertrain has been approved and tested in the Crosstrek, there shouldn't be any legal issues.

2012-2015 manuals are probably the quickest Imprezas ever built. DI's extra 4 HP isn't going to change that.

I'll take the simple and clean interior of the GJ/GP over a busy faux-everything rattle trap. Dash-integrated infotainment is just an oversized phone you can't put away. Sometimes less is more.

13 Sport Premium here too. The only thing the limited offered that would have been nice is a moonroof. Thats just because Ive never had one. So basically... pointless.

Didnt the limited only come in beige interior? I like my interiors like I like my men...

I think that leather seats are only available in limited too. I don't like leather but I could see people wanting it.

Nope. I have a limited with a black leatherette interior. I think beige was the only interior color option if you chose white paint, which I thought was pretty stupid.

Anyone drive their car with 205s on the beach ever? Tires scare me but then again it weighs a lot less than the jeeps that usually drive on the beach.

We don't have much for beaches around here so I can't advise if it is advisable.

The DIY seat heater element was a success. I removed the high temperature cutout while I was in there.

Before HI: 18W bottom, 18W back
Before LO: 4.5W bottom, 4.5W back

After HI: 36W bottom, 18W back
After LO: 4W bottom, 8W back

Good move on removing the temp cutoff. That had to be one of my biggest gripes back when I lived in Philly and used the seat heaters regularly during the winter months.

Thankfully, they haven't been an issue for me anymore since I moved to TX. I use them maybe once or twice during the winter months down here.

Whoa, does that equate to double the heat on your arse?

Seems like you're probably going to light something on fire by doubling the wattage of a circuit. Hopefully the fuse saves you, otherwise I wouldn't have anyone to argue with on here

The driver's seat with the new heating pad uses 4.5A max, so both seats on HI will use 7.5A, well below the 15A limit.

Are they the only thing on the circuit though? It seems highly unlikely that they would put a 15A fuse on a circuit that's like 6A stock.
