I've been following them a little bit more lately. I ran into the vertical flow setup and have been trying to keep an eye out. How much did the intercooler run you if you don't mind me asking?

http://www.treadstoneperformance.com...tercooler+Core
it was 260 tanks are around 70 each if you do not want to make them.
you need a good tig welder and a way to pressure test your intercooler

it is not easy to make it fit but I will have only 3 foot of intercooler tubing
the stock intercooler is a vertical flow also
the down side is they are only 80% efficient vs 90% on a cross flow BUT they have much better flow characteristics I am going to be useing meth so I will have some chemical cooling that will make up for it

it looks good! how is your response vs a fmic? i bet it is pretty intense with the 20g

Response is very good, not quite instant like the stock turbo, but it also doesn't all on it's face like the stocker. I never had the 20G with a FMIC, only the stock turbo, so I don't really have a comparison. The biggest difference I noticed was the lack of power loss on hot days. With the 39 and a FMIC or TMIC, the warm weather really killed the power output. I'm not sure why but that is no longer as noticeable.

I am having fitment issues with the garrett intercooler that I'm using so I just in the market of something else. I'm trying to keep my budget a bit lower since i don't have a tig welder accessible to me nor have the funds for end tank work.

I'll be running meth as well and will be using some pretty short piping with a reversed manifold. It will be setup like this

Question and Opinion time:

I can't fit both the current radiator setup and intercooler that I have right now. It's just occupying too much space. The bumper is having a hard time sitting correctly with the radiator placement. It can be fixed by either getting a new radiator or intercooler. Either I'll be getting a shorter intercooler or I'll be getting a shorter radiator. Both are very good pieces. I don't want to go down in quality from what I already own. Which would you replace?

Specs:
Intercooler: 24"x10.38"x3.5" Garret core. Rated up to 800hp. Part number 703520-6011
Radiator: 16.5"x28"x2.5" Koyo. Also keep in mind I have a fan and shroud to fit and an AN fitting mounted on.

More than likely I'm getting a Treadstone TR8 intercooler. I am planning on running AC still because when it's all said and done, it'll be my sole daily driver.

What I ran into was my radiator support was to high to make it clear the fans radiator and condenser I'm using a 2009 Nissan altima condenser 110 dollars from 1 800radiator a northerner radiator and flex fans
I had to trim the radiator support and lower subframe to clear the Intercooler with the tanks the Intercooler is 25L x 3.5W x 12H
I also would have made the bottom of the radiator and condenser visable if I had not trimmed the subframe and coresupport

I trimmed mine as well but I'm using a smaller intercooler now so I don't think I need to cut any more of the lower support than I have already. I'm not sure yet though. I am adding a Mishimoto radiator fan and shroud now which is a little wider so I'm not sure if that will cause any issues.

I'm interested in the condenser that you're using. I've been looking into an option so that I can still have AC as well.

Here is my build thread if you wanna see some of the work I've done for the kit.

if anyone is interested in making a v-mount I have an intercooler: 24"x10.38"x3.5" Garret core. Rated up to 800hp. Part number 703520-6011

This was taken off a v-mount intercooler setup in Swiftwrx1's car. Search my name for more info

Wow. What happened to this thread? Well I'm pretty much done with my v-mount. One more day of small things here and there and I'll be back on the road.

How about leo? Any new pics?

I wanted to know how people usually wire in fans that aren't stock. For the most part, they are only single speed fans rather than the stock dual speed fans. Because of that, I am unsure of how everything is wired in. Please add in any help that you have. Thank you in advance.

Do not know yet
If there was some sort of a diode in line you could run both
I am real close to dealing with the same issue I will post what I do

I wired my Mishimoto fans this way. I just wired both the high and the low speed into the fans. I haven't taken the car out yet so I'll see how that goes soon.

Those are some sick V-Mount setups. Do most of you guys run AC with these custom setups? Seems like a lot of work to run AC. I know the PE/ ARC kit you can run AC. But these customs ones are just too cool.

I'd love to see a GC8 with a v-mount that still has a working front bumper.
