just get the kinguanga turbo company downpipe elbow for 115 bucks. buy a cheap ebay stainless downpipe, cut the downpipe and bam. 3" catless downpipe that bolts up and correct length.
then sell your expensive downpipe to some noob that needs one!

as far as getting a ecu, contact a vendor and ask them if they got extra's. prob your best bet.

now for the tuners professional and at home guys. i have a few questions with your setups and how its running.
As far as timing goes i know the ej207's like timing and not tons of boost. what are you guys running for peak timing and timing at 7k rpms and 8k rpms. I think mine is way high but I have yet to see any flkc or iam drop or anything. i need to check to make sure the knock sensor is working correctly this weekend.
next is avcs. does anyone have different maps? like group n, or s203/4, spec c's v8/9? i would love to see a stock rom off one of those ecu's.

lastly how fast does everyones v8 vf37 spool in a third gear pull starting at 2500 rpms. say 20psi. it seems like mine is only simular to single scroll vf34 setups now and I would just like an HONEST comparison. not a pissing match who spools faster.

oh one more thing. how in the hell do you guys tune avcs to get any performance gains. i know alot of these tunes lie in the avcs maps. mine is stock still and looks like a cluster! it switches around so fast around small accelerations around town i wonder how the af learning keeps up with the different loads and different rpms.

.
I say continue to monitor the knocking conditions and draw your own conclusion, based on what you see.

If you look around, you'll find the ROM for all the versions.
The S cars will have more aggressive AVCS. Some had success running AVCS based on that.
Some that made AVCS tests showed results in curves that seemed to indicate in this direction as well.

well i found these a while back but they dont include the special roms i listed.... search continues.
http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewt...hp?f=35&t=7591

edit! they are hidden within this list, now i just need to find them.

as far as timing goes. it scares me because im running more timing than stock on 93 octane with no knock. i have not even seen false knock or shift knock. i really need to get a different knock sensor to see if its just mine or what. for how much I have been ripping around on it ie on ramps and drifting in the rain. it pulls very hard and shows no signs of stopping. if someone could just throw a number out there of what they see at peak hp and 7 or 8k rpms for timing i would appreciate it. even if its in a pm. i dont want your timing map or anything. just two numbers from an aggressive tune. specifically the veterans of tuning these engines.
i am running about 10.8/9 right now until i get my 08 sti tmic and splitter setup. maybe the extra fuel is helping prevent knock since its too rich/wet to ignite "too" early in the stroke causing knock.

i have the same S202 ecu, it is physically different than my v7 ecu when i pulled the cover, but functionally the same. Perhaps there are some other pins utilized for that specific car.

Yes Im 100% sure.

USDM year models and JDM models are different.

JDM produced what u called Hawkeye up to 2007 and rolled out the GRB on 2008. Thats why u could see alot of 2007 STi EJ207 is pretty much the same as 03-07. Starting from 08 onwards, It's what we called the GR engine that comes with a plastic manifold instead of the red ones with a bigger STi TMIC.

Based on the model codes above, I knew that this was a GDB-F. Which us Japanese called it the version F or USDM market that called it the Version 9. GRB was produced in 2007 but if i didnt remember it wrongly, Subaru rolled them out on July 07 and continued the sales of GDB-F up till 12/2007.. Thats why you have Hawkeye on 2007. :-))

You can see the Start of Sales date here for GR, http://cars.jpn.org/body/mdl0070007.html
and here for GD, http://cars.jpn.org/body/mdl0070023.html

Bugeye - 01 - 02
Blobeye - 03 -05
Hawkeye - 06 - 07
GRB - 08 onwards.

Hope the above can clear your doubts.

How much boost is everyone running on their EJ207 with VF30?

I'm running 17-18 PSI with EWG. thinking of going hybrid with the manual boost controller and ebcs I have never liked the way boost is handled by the stock ECU

I'm gettin tuned soon. I was at 21psi on the ebcs. I upgraded to an avo adjustable actuator. And it holds boost to redline and response is better. Not sure if that helps any since I need a tune but I'm getting tuned the 21st.

i forget but im pretty sure someone reputable on this thread said it a long time ago. i know there are i guess you could say so called ratios, larger turbo means you can run higher boost levels blowing less hot air. in turn possibly running more timing in the same cells.
anyways anyone want to share two numbers with me. even if its in a pm?

I have a v7 spec C type RA engine. My current ECU is ecutek locked. Anyone know if a regular v7, v8, or v9 ECU will work? I can get a v9 ECU, but not sure if it will be compatible with my car. Thanks!

Dont get the v9. Get a v7 or v8. The v9 has avcs but will, if not spec c, have the immobilizer issue.

You likely do not have a Spec C RA engine. But you can use the RA ecu or any V7 ECU. There are issues with 8, and 9 ecus. Some can be worked around but you likely cannot run the correct rom for your engine. Order a V7 STI or RA ECU as a replacement. It really sucks that ECUtek did that to you man.
