i personally am running nearly the same timing on my ej207 as they have mapped in japan. i just have a smoother curve transition and stuff like that. using the s204 avcs and timing map as a reference at least.

These are the Sponaugle tables.

John only posted information amounting to a fraction of this table. In it, the engine code numbers are correlated to the piston part number and the versions.
If you want to skip the versions, it's your choice.

In what respect are you saying the model number codes are wrong?
And based on what source?

Based on the big lump of MY05 Widetrack Blobeye JDM Obsidian Black Pearl Goodness sat outside my front door and the chassis plate on that.

Model code for MY05 JDM STi is GDBE4EH, the table has the wrong year code ( which should be E) against the MY05 models in the model code table.

Oil fill is on the other side of the engine to the code sticker, you looking at something that isnt the engine code?

Excuse me if I'm the only one getting confused by this. What the heck are you talking about when you say "Widetrack Blobeye"????? Did only Europe get this widetrack or Japan too?

It was Japan and Europe.

The MY05 Widetrack Blobeye was the last model year before the Hawkeye, it has a wider track at the rear than the MY03/04, 114.3mm PCD hubs, 8x17 wheels, longer wheelbase which matches the spec C, later generation DCCD-A with Yaw and steering wheel position sensors.......

Easiest visual indication of the Widetrack car is the extra blisters fitted to the rear wheel arches, to accomodate the wider track and wider wheels.

I'd assume he means the equivalent to the usdm 05 sti, with the fender archers due to the wider track

The MY03 that I have, has this intake sensor in the plenum below the throttlebody.

The model numbers are wrong for 05, they should have E in the description, for rev E, in the 4th designator of the code.
The table is still good, other than this.

It's not homologated, i'll take a look at an MY03 Spec C engine at the weekend and see if the homologation sheet is wrong.

My V8 EJ207DW5CR has the temp sensor in the plenum (right under throttle body) and the oil filler says 7/03..

I was under the impression mine was a model year 2003/2004.....?

John your new info would suggest mine is a model year 2005, since it has the temp sensor?

I find that confusing if not contradictory to what the date on my oil cap says, though of course its entirely possible its not an original cap.
