Default How and when do you check your oil ?

When do you check your oil, after you drive, morning etc ?

Everytime I check the oil it isnt a perfect line across the dipstick, as if the engine is still draining, but even in the morning its not perfect.

Just wandering what you do?

I check it all the time, prolly every 100-200 miles, after the engine is full op temp (getting gas or something), let it sit few minutes, one side of the dipstick reads lower than the other for me os i go with the lowest

I usually check when the engine is cold before i start it in the morning.

If you check it when the engine is warm or after driving, let it sit for like 5 minutes IMO so the oil can drain back into the pan etc.

I usually check it when I fill up my gas tank. So, at least once a week it's getting checked.

the service manuals say to check it with the oil at full operating temperature, but several minutes after the car has been turned off to allow it to drain down.
