How do you like those tires? Im debating to whether or not get them or one of the 4 Extreme summer tires on tirerack.com (probably the dunlops)

Well I got them mainly because we get good snow anywhere from 2-5 times in the winter and I want something that can handle all the seasons with good tire life and a decent price.

They are pretty grippy going straight but do flex some when I push them in the corner, but then again I didn't buy them for cornering. Take that for what it's worth.

Ok 08-10 guys... anyone running a 245's on an 18x8.5 +44 (or +45) with unrolled fenders? Issues?

Looking for all options for my new wheels, which I know can easily fit the 235's, but the 245's I've seen look like they have a squarer tread profile and a better fit (no stretch, more lip protection).

I've got 18x8.5 +44 Rota Gravels and Tanabe GF210 springs which are not super-slammed. (2+finger wheel gap with stock wheels). I want to order the right tires...

I have spent hours searching Google and every forum and found only 235's, or Legacys. Looking for first or verifiable 2nd hand experience.

Many Thanks In Advance!

I think I saw a fellow who was running 245's on a +48 wheel without any fender mods. Was over on 3gwrx

Are you dead set on 245s for an 18x8.5 wheel? A 235/40/18 wouldn't be stretched on an 18x8.5 wheel. I have 225/40/18 tires on 18x8.5 +44 wheels right now and there is a slight stretch, which I don't think would be there if I went to a 235/40 tire. For what it's worth, I haven't rubbed ONCE with 18x8.5 +44 with 225/40/18 tires lowered on Epic Engineering lowering springs with my '10 WRX with un-modded fenders.

I'm a bit supprised you'd rub ever with that setup.

If you're talking to me, then you're right. I have never rubbed with my setup...

I am not dead set, and the 235's a lighter and cheaper... uh, wait... did I just make my decision?

Seems like the 08-10's I have seen with info are running the 235/40/18's.

I have never had a problem with the 225's feeling like they don't have enough grip FWIW, but I wouldn't run 225's on the 8.5's.

I'll search for pics of your ride!

I would go with 245/35/18 tires if you want to avoid rubbing.

Yeah if my 225/40s weren't stretched on 18x8.5, I would keep them. I'm probably going to switch to 235/40s next.

Here's a link to my pics. I need to do a new shoot, these pics are old now:

I think 225 is a little narrow for 8.5 width

They are narrow, there is some stretch with that setup. Nothing ridiculous like a 225 on a 9.5" wheel, but it's stretched a little.

235/40/18 or 245/35/18 are perfect sizes for an 18x8.5" wheel on an 08+ WRX.

When you look at that car, you think Subaru didn't do such a bad job designing it... =)

It's a big offset for the wagon... WheelDude recommended 235's after talking to them on the 18x8.5+44's and felt the rears would rub with 245's when loaded.

So I wouldn't be able to run 235s and be ok? I'm still on stock suspension...

If camber or fender rolling is required, it would be no problem.

Well then you can run pretty much anything. There are threads about offset and wheel bearing wear you should read. I have very little experience with this stuff... I'm a moto guy.

Just did some calculating and found out that they will work with 235s on stock suspension. Will have to most likely roll the rears or run negative camber once the car is lowered. I will post pictures once I buy/install the wheels.

Front lip/aero looks awesome. I was looking at that on eBay last night but I have an 09 with the factory "ground effects" Would love to see a side-shot. My tires will be mounted in a couple of hours.

Side shot isn't much... That's not actually the "Aero" spoiler I guess. It came in a Subaru box, but when I went to my dealership they had no listing for that particular one.

What I like is that you might have more ground clearance than the Aero front end and it has an "Audi" sort of look (like the 2010's and 2011 S-Lines). Looks unique... Subaru box? Wild...
