07 STi limited with no sunroof????
So I was browsing Ebay and Cars.com for Subies to buy (I do this a lot), and I came across a fixed 07 STi limited on Ebaymotors. The car was the limited interior, name plate, limited spoiler, but NO SUNROOF. Didn't all limiteds come with sunroofs in 07? Every one I have seen did. It was a insurance repair job, so maybe it was wrecked so bad they had to take out the sunroof? Maybe they swapped limited parts to a regular STi? Help me out here, I iz confused.

Yes came with sunroof and heated mirrors/wipers. Going to guess this guy must have removed it. Just found a solid roof part and replaced it. Or he painted brakes, found a dash kit, replaced seats or just has covers

I'd ask the seller and get the VIN. My first inclination is that someone totaled their limited, bought it back from the insurance and then transferred all that into a regular STi. Yah, I'm not very trusting.

I was going to say something too, almost looks like a WRX body not an STi... I would be very cautious!

IIRC those are not the right rims, and yes they all had a sunroof.
EDIT: I got in trouble last time so I will not be posting or talking about where I got this information from. That car was a total loss with multiple points of damage that had to be towed from the sceen of the accident. Salvaged title as well. I would assume that it rolled as that would be the only reason to replace the roof... |

the Interior is a limited but I notice a couple discrepancies on the exterior. The wheels are not the wheels that came on a limited, and it is missing the front lip spoiler as well. that is the main things I see besides the missing sun roof.
I have number 528 and compared my VIN to the one they listed and the last 6 digits is the sequential production number and this car is 932 higher than mine, this is assuming that all they were came off the line sequentially, so I would be a little leary. |

It is 100% a Limited STi....I promise. That said who the hell would want to buy a car that had a salvage title and clearly needed a new roof? Not I... |

Regardless of the VIN:
No sunroof No lip Non body-color matched bumper side-vents (2006 only had the non body-color or black centered side-vents) I would have to agree that if the VIN is correct and correct to this vehicle, then why the inconsistencies? ******* JF1GD77677L504369 has not been identified as a vehicle listed in the VINCheckSM Theft Records. JF1GD77677L504369 has not been identified as a vehicle listed in the VINCheckSM Total Loss Records. ******* The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) has access to a database of vehicles which were reported as stolen within the past five years and remain unrecovered or declared as salvage. This information is being made available, free of charge, as a public service to consumers. This database contains a "salvage" file and an "insurance theft" file which is the information VINCheck searches during queries. The terms "total loss" and "salvage" are not synonymous in the insurance industry and that is important to understand when using VINCheck. Not all vehicles identified as a total loss will become salvage. A salvage determination is made by individual insurance companies based on individual company policies and applicable state law. ***8226;The NICB has not independently verified the information in the database and cannot, therefore, vouch for the accuracy of this information. ***8226;There are many other vehicles which have been reported as stolen which are not included in this database. ***8226;There are also many other vehicles which are total losses or salvage which are not included in this database. ***8226;It is possible that a vehicle was incorrectly reported as having been stolen, or was stolen and recovered, but has not removed from this database. ***8226;It is possible that a vehicle was incorrectly reported as salvage and has not been removed from this database. ***8226;It is also possible that there are vehicles with duplicate VINs and/or VINs incorrectly entered. ***8226;If a vehicle is reported in this database as having been stolen, but not recovered, you should verify with the NICB or your local law enforcement agency that a stolen vehicle report is active before taking any action regarding the vehicle. How about someone call them and ask for a carfax? Ask them about the missing sunroof and other inconsistencies.

It says it right in the description the title has been rebuilt, rebuildable and reconstructed. That would be the red flag.
