3th time pushing coolant on the same CNC sleeved block it has been teared apart twice, decked it twice (10 ra all the time) using half inches studs, although this block has been 10 10 sec passes and some nitrous it should had held together longer, its a minor leak there, so small the coolant passes the CO chemical test and of course all sort of leak down tests at different pressure/temperatures, it only shows burbles and coolant in excess at the overflow tank (losing coolat slowly) a few seconds after you step on Boost.
we have built 10 sleveed block the lst year, all US sources, one locally, seen 10 more from other guys, no one ever has lived that long so we can say the thousands expent in the process were OK, its simply cheaper and less frustrating to use a bare new block do a few passes under 30 psi on a knock free tune, and when it pops after a while just get a new stock one, and if you like to have it for long periods, keep a very conservative tuning afr and timing wise for the street and low boost (under 500whps may say) thats the 2.5 nature, too bad the 2.0 was forgotten by us... it would have been another history without the head gasket sealing issues, maybe difficult to get that much spool/torque/power band, as the Ej doesnt rev high enough for a street 9 or 10 sec 2.0... Time for the evo world and fight with drivetraing problems instead of head gaskets....or its time for CNC guys to build what the rally guys uses to keep the cylinder pressures in place http://www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.u...productID=1234 http://www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.u...productID=1233 http://www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.u...productID=1238 |

8, 9, 10s without coolant problems... Few of those aren't sleeved either.
P&L will be releasing the block bracing run in both the 8 second cars soon. No sleeves and trapping 165mph |

We just dont believe on sleeved subaru blocks, we even had one o ringed that never sealed as the mls gasket couldnt flow around the ring, a total disaster, we have seen many braces at this board, and they cant stop the liners to crack, or what type of bracing are you taliking about? like the wrc bushings and o rings? |

You said you haven't seen any low 10s Subaru that don't push coolant.. I was pointing out that they happen to exist. 46psi thought the stock liner and 133-134 1/8th, with no problems the whole season. Your 35psi and 150shot could be making more cylinder pressure for lots of reasons and breaking the motors. Not the liners fault If you oringed a sleeved motor and it didn't seal, then you made some bad measurements.... Again not the motors fault Lots of pictures and theories get posted on forums, some never get tested, some get tested and never post the failed results. P&L has been testing theirs for 2yrs and I think they are finally ready to move into production. It works |

Your 46 psis on the stock liners? what studs? ethanol? what head gasket? wire/oringed? I dont think that possible in the long run on a stock bare block, the stadistics say so, you may be talking that yours has the PL bracing and supported the 46 psis--- what are we talking here, block guard machinned out? Do you have some pics? where could we find some extra info about what we consider a glorious fix to the ej25 head gasket sealing/stock liners cracking problem? |

This car that I tune No pics available as of yet. It works though, 1000000% sure of it for the last 2 seasons without a single liner/piston/rod/HG failure. This year we are switching to bigger injectors and a E based race fuel called FTW. Shooting for the 7s |

very nice car!!, we are definately insterest in this engineered magical product and we would love to see it and test it before anymore expectations we can make out of it, 46 psi on stock liners is a awesome acomplishment for a aluminum subaru boxer with such a bore on the ej25...
Last Block dropped a sleeve again, for the 2nd time, incredible how a CNC machinist well known could do such a work, to drop the sleeves once is a hit an miss, but after decking the block flat out again and then drop again?? I am really sick at this, so, my frustrations are obvious with the subaru boxer engine trying to play and keep up with big boys (high boost territory and 9 sec full wieght cars) |

If you are using Dartons, you may want to check the cut on the base of the sleeve vs the cut in the block base for receiving. . Measure the angles, maybe you are using one that is not the same as the sleeve itself.. Just for ****s, we have run over 35psi on unsleeved motors plenty of times. My own wagon went 107-09 1/8th with stock sleeved, **** even a stock motor with no orings or anything. No frustrations, just fun for the most part. |

Hey, if he's already blowing up uber high dollar sleeved blocks, it would be a lot cheaper and easier to just run stock sleeve blocks and see how they last.
