Won't have the same impact. That show used to scare the crap out of me in 1979...

The new series is awesome - guy in the office is a mad Dr Who fan - he grabbed it on torrent after it's screening in the UK - it's really damn good stuff.

Season 1 is already out there on Torrent as it has already been shown in the BBC (who produced it). Reviews are that it is fantastic, has a budget, and pays excellent homage to the older series.

If it is even half as good as Battlestar Galactica, then it will be awesome.

I can't believe no one has brought this up yet.

I watched the 2-hour US premier, I liked it. I never saw the originals. I was too young, and they were too PBS, and I was too confused about what was going on with the show.

I watched them yesterday. I have to say, I like the new Doctor. He's got the best **** eating grin of all of them. He's a little too high-stung..... but that just adds more to the character.

Can't wait to see where this all goes. (And don't GIS the girl if you're at work...)

I got these off of torrent as well. They're pretty good, and his assistant is appropriately delicious...

I saw the originals - and I mean THE originals from 40 years ago. I liked them and I like the new one.

I loved the original series, however I would watch the new one...provided they don't over due the CG special effects. If they do it tastefully...I'm in.

I loved the original with Tom Baker as the Dr., however, I did watch the new show and must say I like it. The new guy has the correct behavior you'd expect from Dr. Who.

Kind of a late comer to the new Doctor Who series, but ive watched a little on Sci-Fi so i rented the season 1 DVDs, this show is great as a remake AND a new chapter in the Dr Who story, and Christopher Eccelston did a fantastic (pun intended) job portraying the doctor for that season, really met a lot of tough to meet expectations. Hopefully the seasons 2 and 3 will David Tennant will be just as good. Next to BSG, this is a great remake of an old show that was cheesy for the time.

The show's getting better and better.

The latest episode... very cool! I'm a big fan of Tennant, and Cap'n Jack is always a hoot. I like Martha, too, definitely better than Rose.

100% agree.

This season has had its ups and downs but the last few have been exellent.

And I am excited for the next 2!

yea, just watched the first ep last night...it amazes me how well the basic concept stands up against other sci-fi stuff considering how long it's been around for.

and the new doctor is quite good. very similar to tom baker (the best of the old doctors)

I think Rose was awesome. Loved the character, loved the hotness of the actress Billie Piper.

My favorite episodes were on all weekend: Impossible Planet and Satan's Pit. Good stuff this show is.

Anyone watch through season 4? Really really good stuff. Too bad we only get 5 more episodes before 2010 when Stephen Moffatt takes over writing and producing the show.

Which is a good thing, I believe. He's written some of the better episodes IMO (Blink for example).
