Coolant block off for rotated turbo
I am using a journal bearing turbo for my rotated setup and I was wondering what I do to "cap off" the existing coolant lines that ran to the stock location turbo?

does the expansion tank contain the lines that run into the turbo? I was just thinking about putting a regular bolt in the banjo bolt fitting on the back of the motor, but was concerned about it causing too much pressure.
Do you think I could just re route it somehow? |

yes, delete the tank, cut or remake the coolant line that goes up between the manifold and conect it to the back of the block. cap the rad where it goes to the expansion tank.

So youre telling me to run a line from the line that has the heat shielding on it, to the line that connects at the bottom of the tank. and then cap the lines off at the radiator? sorry if i basically asked the same question, I just want to make sure its going to flow and im not plugging two lines together where coolant comes out. |

I ran an oil cooled turbo for a few years on a previous car and just ran a proper sized hose from the expansion tank to the head. I didn't want to delete the expansion tank because I planned to eventually return it to a water cooled turbo. No issues.

Yes, you can use a new hose to go from the line picutred to the one that goes to the expansion tank. The hoses that ran from the expansion to the radiator can be capped, one goes to the overflow bottle and the other to the radiator.
