This is true. Best option is to replace with the real thing

I'm leaning towards gold then paint the calipers red I like the red and gold look black is nice but hard to really see the wheels design so it between silver and gold I think also what do you guys think for clutch stock with resurfaced flywheel or clutch masters stage one with resurfaced flywheel...

I posted in the classifieds but I figured I'd post here too. Does anybody have a stock '10 grill?

But who in there right mind would put sti brembos on our car? It's an aesthetic thing for sure. But not worth the price.

I want to know if the subaru branded 4 pot red calipers would bolt up to our car? Not to expensive, might be a better alternative. There made for the older wrx's

My question is, how difficult is it to convert + install those on the 08s that got shafted with frickin drums in the rear?

I completely agree. I'm leaning towards resurfacing and professionally painting my 11' wrx rims the 05' bbs gold, hopefully with the calipers above^^^

I'd start by ripping everything apart and seeing if the brackets are at all the same.

Only benefit to having our rear drums is the extremely long brake life. I'm at 45k and at 70% still on them. I changed my front pads about 5k ago.

I think I'll probably try to do a swap in the spring.

A lot of work. You'd need everything from the knuckle out. VDMTom wanted to get rid of his drums and found out that it was just too much.

The brembos are not only aesthetic but performance as well. Also keep in mind more brake pad options being available.
As for the 06/07 4/2 pots, the fronts will bolt up if you have the wrx brake caliper brackets and I don't remember if the front Wrx rotors will work either. The rear calipers will require a bracket from knsbrakes/kartboy for sure and again I'm unsure about the rotors (this is if you already have disc brakes in the rear). Theirs a few threads on here ill link to when I get a chance.

I understand the performance aspect as well. I just didn't think it would be worth mentioning. Brembos are best for heat displacement and continuous used such as track days.

For our cars though, without the HP, its pointless. Given the minimal weight difference between the wrx and sti they show similar 60-0 stopping in a straight line. That's all I care about.

That said, if I had brembos I would put them on a Toyota Prius haha.

As for the 4/2 pots, I didn't know you needed a bracket for the fronts, I was under the impression that 08 wrx 4 pots would bolt up. Just figured we had a beefier setup than the 06/07's

True, however our cars are like 400lbs lighter than the STI : p
We have the same brakes as all 08+Wrx minus the front rotor size difference (assuming you have discs all around). The fronts on the Wrx/2.5i are 2pot and rears are single pot setup. 06/07 Wrx have the 4/2pot setup, thus the physical and visual difference.

I always thought the 08wrx guys got boned with 2.5i struts and springs, minimal HP gains, but with same brakes as us to? I feel just a little better about my car.

I'll have to do some more research into the 4 pot conversion for the 08+ 2.5i's.

They still have 11.6" rotors where the stock 2.5i rotors are 10.x" something. But everything else you stated is correct

We have 10.9" front rotor... rear brakes are identical.

Alright fellas, what's the best tire to go with? I'm going with with OZ Ultralegarra 17x8 wheels. I was thinking about getting Michelin super sport tires. Thanks for your opinions.
