Signed up to do Friday Nov 1 with Trackdaze on VIR Grand, and with Audi Club Nov 3-4 (Instructing). Anyone else interested?

Also will probably do at least one day with Trackdaze at Summit September 29-30.

And added the Dominion HPDRE October 21 to the calendar, and might do that even too.

I'm tentatively planning on doing the Trackdaze event at VIR in November, just gotta work out logistics with a wedding of my gf's friend that Saturday. (Of course, her friend's wedding just had to be on the weekend that I've done 3 days on track in recent years. )

That late September event @ Summit is definitely a possibility, and/or the Audi Club @ Dominion the following weekend. And the October Dominion HPRDE is one I'm planning to get to.

I just got back from VIR. Thinking of doing the Sept 29, 30 at Summit, and Oct 21 at Dominion.

Nice.

Curious. What do you use for video capture and data overlay?

How do you sync them? You'll have to show me at Summit.

RaceRender has a sync tool built into it. Also makes it easier to start AccessPort logging and GoPro at the same time.

Did you talk to him? Seemed like you ran wide and saved it, and he followed you, but didn't save it.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to head down for the Trackdaze event, as the CTS-V is still busted and I'm lazy. Looks like the track is getting washed clean right now for you, but the weather over the weekend looks about perfect. Have fun!

Bummer you didn't make it down. Great weekend. Rain held off all day Friday, and Sat & Sun were perfect weather for turbos (a bit chilly in the morning). Ran best times (of sessions I've actually timed) on both Grand (3:00:8) and Full (2:09:8). And that was on near fully worn R888Rs. Going to work on lots of suspension bushings over the winter, as the car felt a little sloppy. Otherwise, the old STI ran great.

My student Sat & Sun was really good. Solo'd him for the last 2 sessions on Sunday. And he passed along a bunch of great pics of my car!

Well - First complete Time Trial season ended with full send this weekend at Summit Point. Total brake failure into T1 skipped me over the gravel trap and through the concrete barrier. Shout out to Summit Point EV crew, corner workers, and my NASA mid-Atlantic family for the support and being on their game. Wear your safety gear folks!

Season recap: The rest of the year was smooth with only minor issues Ė consistency good enough for overall pointís leader in TT4. The car held up well under impact, and still pulled off the win from an earlier session. Big improvements this year as a driver (and maybe from a few homemade parts and a suspension re-work). Iím eager to get back out again soon 👍

Ouch! Glad you're OK. Do you know what happened with the brakes?

Oh...and Congrats! What was your winning time?

Holy cow! Glad you came out of that OK. Car does look like it held up quite well.

Doing a tear-down this weekend to hopefully see if I can get the engine fired up to test brakes out more. I didn't see any obvious leaks around the calipers but there may be a small one elsewhere introducing air. Brake MC may be bad.

It also appears my clutch master cylinder is leaking. I had a soft clutch pedal once last month and a tough time getting into third gear once last weekend so I'll replace the clutch master and slave too.

- Correct, unfortunately did not get in the hot laps I wanted to Saturday AM due to cold tires and traffic. I've done 1:20's and was shooting for 1:19's this weekend. Next year I guess!

The U-brace and crash beam took the vast majority of the impact. Not much else damage underneath. Passenger frame rail in front of strut tower is pushed in an inch or so. Hood, driver fender, bumper skin and beam, radiator, headlights, timing belt cover. Engine cross member has a hole in it near swaybar mount but I'm not sure if it's worth removing to replace yet. Looks like a pain in the ass to swap.
