Click menu and you can set it to single, repeated release once button is pressed, 2 sec delay, remote.
Honestly I don't think that will matter when shooting handheld....

Thanks for enabling me!
I've become accustomed to using the tripod on my Nikon at this stage, so it'll definitely help. I appreciate attempting to actually take good pictures. I've worked out a system to release the legs quicker, although I really should invest in a quicker-release tripod. It's cold outside and seconds become precious when you're trying to set up. Also I don't need quite as many height adjustments as I do with my current tripod. It was free, though, so I can't hate on that. haha |

Sounds like you don't NEED a tripod, but want the support why not look into a monopod then for that quick deployment. |

Thought about it, but never turned that thought into action. I'll look into that!

I like to have the flash go off for some fill lighting when shooting the shady side of an object, but it always sucks with cars because of reflectors everywhere.
Photoshop may have native support for your RAW format, but it depends on the version. I had CS3 and could not read my Canon G12 RAW files because it was too new at the time. There was an add-in that allowed it to work, but I found that all the RAW pics were noisy and needed a lot more work to look good so I gave up. I should try again now that I have CS5. Even thought it's no DSLR, you guys are making me want to get my camera out and get back into shooting. But damn, I have too many freakin hobbies... |

Yeah I feel you. Cars are where I'm the most knowledgeable and where I dedicate the most time...I haven't spent money on the car in a while, it's being going to my other main hobby for a while now.

Was looking for a pic I took of an STI sticker price at Groove Subaru in Denver when I stumbled upon this pic that Google+ spliced together on my behalf that made me kinda lol.

how'd you do that?!?!
honestly, i'm for the MOST part done dumping $$$ into the car. i'll do things here and there but i've already done so much in a year the car AS IS is just a ****ing absolute blast to drive. it doesn't NEED anything..but i'll still buy **** i don't need the camera is just great, i love taking photos and now that i'm older and go on more trips, its nice to take photos to have those memories somewhere, also i just like to shoot. driving and taking photographs (not at same time) is very soothing to me. as i get older, i'm less and less addicted at throwing money at the car in forms of parts, i much prefer the process of taking something mass produced and making it my own. tinkering with ****, my interior is prime example. its not expensive (compared to other mods) but i did it, and i know FOR FACT no one in the world has the interior that i have done. and that makes me proud, and happy. chano, you honestly have to get some kind of post processing program, there is simply NO way around that. i love aperture, it allows me to do the basic things i need with my images and its very easy to organize and upload directly to flickr/FB. if you have a mac, thats a no brainer. (IDK if its windows compatible) bottom line is, you'll go shoot something and out of the 20-100+ shots you take, you will in the end have only a fraction that are decent and that would actually require post work. as they say "carp in, crap out" you need to have a good photo to start with. i'm not saying you have to spend hours editing, even if you just upload them, touch up some blackpoint/exposure stuff or auto enhance (aperture quick fix) that takes second to do and makes your photos look much better. its never too early to start good habits, but yes i know...TIME is the one commodity we can't buy more of. |

Google+ takes liberties with my pictures.
Yeah, your car is proper as is. I'm planning on getting almost everything done this year and just gonna sit pretty for a while. I'd like to focus on the rest of my life eventually! Good point on the post processing. I already dwindle down my usable shot to about 1/3 or less. I really think Lightroom would be nice to get. I'm housesitting AGAIN this weekend, so I won't be on a computer to tinker with shots. I will be taking more shots this weekend, though. My friend wants her Canon back for no particular reason, so gonna shutter the CRAP out of it! I hear Apples are ideal for post-processing video and pics. I don't have my own computer, so I'm kind of in the market for something that I can use solely for picture editing. I'm all ears! News: My Japanparts tS parts shipped yesterday. |

I'll look more into that. Should I be wary of used Macbook Pros?

Really? Had no issues with mine. All I did a few years ago was double my ram and swap to a bigger/faster HD. Do it. |

Yeah I guess it makes more sense to see how I do with photo editing on a $100 program before jumping into a $1k+ Mac.
Yip! Just painted the one on there, as I do not believe the mustache is removable. I believe it's one entire piece, same as the rear bumper diffuser. |

So when indoors I actually find the 35mm to be a bit useless in trying to take shots of a room. I was standing in one corner trying to encompass most of the room. Got nothing. I switched to my busted 18-55 and was much more satisfied since I got most of the room in the shot. I think I'm going to pick up a 16-85 as I originally planned to since I've had several requests to take pics of people's property indoors and outdoors. The 35mm is definitely a great portrait lens for sure.

Don't get a laptop at all unless you HAVE to take it with you. I've been babysitting laptop users for the last decade and most are useless after 3-4 years (laptops AND the users...). Of course, they'll still run, but you'll start hating your life and end up stabbing it in the screen because your new phone can do everything faster.
Uh...where was I? I've had soooo many coworkers over the years ask me to help build them a laptop online and usually end up getting them towards a desktop. Why? Because the farthest that laptop will go is to the couch, and we have phones/tablets for that. If it won't leave the house, get a desktop. I suggest buying one rather than building unless you like to be your own tech support. I build mine, but then again I have no one to call when something goes wrong. Parts have warranty, but Dell's warranty is a hell of a lot better than what you get calling ASUS. My old motherboard looked like it was Visconti tuned. Fire bad! Adobe Elements or Lightroom or some such thing will be all you need at first. Nothing (much) against Macs, I just feel they're overpriced and any argument about "well Mac can do XYZ better than Windows" is pure BS. They all compute. Intel and AMD each do certain things better than the other, but in the end 99.99% of peope wouldn't know the difference in daily activities. Apple just has great marketing and fanboys. We have people at work who NEED to have a Mac, then we have to install Parallels so they can actually work... I'm tired of typing...what were we talking about again? Yay whiskey! |

In 35mm film cameras, a 50mm lens is considered to be close to the human eye, so it's prety much WYSIWYG. 35mm would be a bit wide. Back in my photo days, I loved using my 28mm wide lens for outdoors. For portraits, you'd use something longer to compress, rather than warp, the subject. |
