Default eBay's version of Takata Low Profile Ramps

Anybody try these yet?

They seem like the Takata ones without the name on them. I know there's the 2x4, 2x8, or 2x10 method, but these seem to be a bit cheaper - $85 shipped for four of them.

seem kind of limited... i guess for storage they would be great, but if you need ramps to work on your car, these have less then 3 inches of lift which is about worthless.

These aren't made so you can work on your car underneath. It gets lowered cars high enough so you can get a jack underneath.

Personally, I'd say that going to Home Depot or Lowes and getting some 2x6's or 2x8's cut about a foot wide. Then build a "pyramid" out of them... glue 'em down and then run a screw through it. You could get 2, 4, 6-inches of lift for cheap. I've done this with some scrap wood and got the job for about nuthin'. I used 2x6's, but my "perch" at the top isn't very big so it's little weird getting up there--but like I said, it was free. Go with 2x8's at a minimum.

......ya can very likely pop by the local Lowes or Home Depot(or construction site) and ask to pick through their scrap and get 2x4's....2x6's or whatever for free

I do it all the time for misc. bits of FOD I need for projects..

FREE =

+1 for this. I used a scrap green treated 2x10 that was left over from build our deck, and a 2x8 I had lying around. I cut each more or less in half at about 45 degrees to create a little bevel to make driving onto them easier. I cut the 2x8 pieces about 8 inches shorter, and screwed them on top of the 2x10s. Finally, I screwed on a block at the end of the ramp so I can feel when I shoud stop. They're not the prettiest ramps in the world, but they were mostly free, and they make oil changes on a lowered car much easier.
