Doesn't it potentially make more sense?
Complete unfortunate accident? Running (if you knew it happened) and/or not turning yourself in is less likely. Unfortunate accident occurring during a street race? IMHO, much more likely you're not waiting around/coming forward.

I think it makes very little sense that a CO would be street racing or engaging in some sort of consensual high speed endeavor, and even less sense that nobody saw anything. That location of 395 is right past the Washoe cty sherriffs office and the jail by 2 miles. It could have been his place of employment.

Theres a lot of prisons, boys farms, etc adjacent to and in Reno, I used to deal with lots and lots of CO's from all levels along the spectrum and from both states. I was surprised at how most of them seemed like good folks, There were some creepy ****s that seemed like a character someone created for sure, but I was almost floored at how normal or 'good' or whatever to call it, they seemed. I worked side by side with many for days on end actually.
Ive actually seen my worst cop behaviors from CHP officers in my neck of the woods. Had a couple in the family as well. Awful and dangerous. Anyhow, less than it being a CO in the first place, the busyness and not low profile location of the incident still surprises me that nobody saw anything and is coming forward with it. Its on the way to the boonies, but your not in the boonies yet. |

Well said, the news is infamous for making assumptions, people blindly accepting and jumping to RA-RA-RA ribble rabble mode. Think for yourself, use logic, don't blindly accept. Glad some people are smart enough to point this stuff out As far as the incident itself, its a sad thing to see and it also tarnishes the name of Subaru and everyone who drives one, unfortunately. So given the tone of some of these comments, should I then assume the biker was riding the ass of WRX driver's bumper, like 90% of the bikers I see on the road? Whereas something as subtle as a tiny tap on the brakes on the WRX would throw a biker careening through the air due to their false sense of security driving so close. Not to mention, behind vehicles 1000's of pounds heavier, yet with infinitely better braking power than said bike riding 2-5 feet (typical) from the drivers rear bumper. *Just an extreme example of where assumptions can lead, granted my assumption comes from experiences of this happening to me...often. That is, people riding my ass on their bikes when I'm on the highway, not me hitting people, that doesn't happen as often haha. |
