Default Making Power

I've been buying parts over the last couple months getting ready for a protune an E85. Figured i'd share some of my subie goodness with the Nasioc family.

My long term goal is to get some blank heads built an a IAG short block but for now it'll just be bolt-ons an E85.

So far i have -

Cobb Turbo back exhaust
Cobb Flex fuel pressure sensor kit
Cobb Flex fuel ethanol sensor kit
Grimmspeed boost control solenoid
AEM UEGO wideband controller
IAG Comp series AOS
NGK Iridium one step colder plugs
Cobb air intake
Cobb short shifter
ID 1050x injectors
Deatschwerks 300c fuel pump

I called the guys over at Yimi sport tuning and asked their opinions on some parts, they are who ill be taking the car to for the protune. would still like to get a fuel pressure regulator but cant decided on one. im also thinking of getting a new tmic but cant decided because ill eventually be switching to a fmic when the time comes.

Let me know what you guys think, if i missed something important or you have any opinions you'd like to share. My 2014 sti only has 25k miles so its time for the trans an diff fluids, yimi recommended i switch over to motul 8100 X-cess 5w40 an 75w90 300 gear oil.

If i can make anywhere near 350whp/400tq ill be more than happy. Thanks for checking out my thread

youre going to need a bigger turbo for those numbers.

Youre basically at stage 2 right now.

yimi sport knows what theyre doing, ask them for a recommendation on an fpr.

I wouldnt waste money on a bigger tmic knowing that I was getting a fmic down the road anyway. The stock tmic will be fine for this power level. I would say expect around 300/300 on this set up, maybe 320/320 since its e85. If you make more, great, if you dont you wont be overly disappointed.

Thats my $0.02.

You could build your current turbo. I believe you have a VF48 on your sti. With a billet wheel, swap the waste gate actuator for a stiffer spring, maybe even port and polish the exhaust housing. You can push some decent numbers on a stock VF with e85. Cheaper option than buying another turbo.

Tmic can help but if anything youll get some lag, stock sti will be pretty suffice for a bit till you get into some bigger turbo options.

Header and or up pipe can be an option for you. Headers can push a little boost of power and uppipe will help with flow.

These are some quick little things. But I would look into building your VF. Ive seen some people stretch out their sti turbo to a 18g and it puts down some good numbers. I even saw a guy with a ball bearing VF48 hybrid that amazing. But the amount of money he put into that turbo he might as well bought a decent blouch or fpr. Etc...

Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it. I'll search the forums for more info about building my stock turbo, tbh I didn't even consider that.

Right on, looks like they have a good idea of what to do and reasonable. When you get a minute, check out 6starspeed.com. They have a pretty good knowledge on VFs and offer a wide selection of upgrade options. Great work.

Looks like 6starspeed does some awesome **** with the VF'S. I think at those price points I might do like a rotated set up though. Possible later down the road when my current EJ pops and I get to the built stage of this adventure, lol.
