Default 2012 STi tearing up the track (Dec 2017)

Sup VIC!!! I still come back to NASIOC for subie resources and it has never let me down. I do miss the old days before FB and smartphones took over the good old internet forum browsing in front of a desktop computer.

Here is my annual VIC post

Took my STi to the track last weekend and I'm pretty happy with the new setup. Quick mod list:

Suspension & Brake
-RCE Tarmac Zero
-RCE F/R swaybars
-Whiteline roll-center kit
-Perrin rear endlinks
-Whiteline front endlinks
-Cusco front camber plates
-Girodisc 2-piece rotors F/R
-Project Mu 999 brake pads F/R
-Cusco master cylinder brace
-BBS STi S203 forged wheels
-Nitto NT01
-Castrol brake fluid
-Boomba Racing brake deflectors

Engine
-EJ257 Stock internals
-Blitz oil cooler
-Blitz Radiator
-Samco hoses
-Sard low temp thermostat
-Cusco oil catch can
-Zerosport intercooler splitter
-Cobb catted downpipe
-Tomei extreme-ti catback
-Perrin heatshield
-ECUtek by Delicious Tuning
-Stage 2
-Motul 300V

Exterior/Interior
-STi front lip + rubber lip
-STi Recaro seats
-Takata harness
-Defi Advance BF gauges (boost, oil press, oil temp)
-Damd steering wheel
-Sti shift knob

That's about it, a very mild setup as we have a lack of good shops/tuners in HK that have enough experience with subaru. As you guys can see I went with Delicious Tuning in the states instead of local tuners.

A short clip of my best lap

This was the first time at the track the Stage 2 setup and overall it ran great. I had a little overheating issue though (coolant exploded out of the reservoir cap/tube and eventually I lost like 5-6L of coolant which caused the overheating), which was subsequently diagnosed to be a bad thermostat . The stock water temp gauge moved 2 clicks but it would drop back down to normal after half a lap of cooling down. I was expecting the worst (blown head gasket or something), but compression test showed all 4 cylinders at 150psi . I guess IAG stage 2 shortblock will have to wait...

Anyways, that's all for today. Cheers!

Linking photobucket doesn't work anymore. Like the view of your video from in car.

Photobucket stopped users from linking their images directly. There's an app or something you can use to bypass it.

It's called Guangdong International Circuit in the China... apparently it's a FIA formula 3 track and less than 10 years old.. lol..

things tend to get old very fast in China..
