dude, seeing those pics brought back nightmares!

a good friend of mine used to have one, and we'd all go over to his apartment to party, and when we'd all be passed out with all the lights out, the little f-er would get out of his cage and run around the place. i was passed out on the floor and all of a sudden I hear this annoying ****ing chirping sound. I open my eyes and this thing is not but 2 inches in front of my face...taunting me to wake up. I wake up and it runs off chirping, like it was laughing at my ass. the thing was evil. SGAPCE.

Yes, unless you have several hours per day to play with them, you can't get a single glider. That's why I got two spayed males. They don't really smell, just change the shavings in the pan once every week. Then just wipe the cage down, takes all of 20 minutes, if that.

They eat many of the same healthy foods that we do. Vegetables, meat, and they love sweet things like fruit. I wouldn't really call their diet exotic, you just can't feed them any junk food.

The chiping was their "bark". They do that when they are lonely, they miss you, or they want to play.

So THAT'S where sugar comes from!

Do they glide very well in a closed area?

Yeah, but from what I researched, buying them at a pet store is a big no-no. They must be properly weened, and only at like 8 weeks out of the pouch or something. Then they must be handled several hours each day, so that they are accustomed to human interaction.

Otherwise, you have a seriously pissed off glider, and they will draw blood when they bite. Think of being bitten by a squirrel...

I was only bitten once in the past year. Other than that, they are so gentle and cute.

if i could afford to feed myself all the time opposed to most of the time, i would totally get one of those... and then i would get my cat back from my parents (no dogs/cats in my apartment) and debauchery would ensue. i envision a flying cat/sugar glider supervillin fighting team. it would be totally badass.

It costs less than 10.00/month to feed a pair of them.
