Pretty damn awesome way to send her off though. After having owned a Subaru, I've created a certain affection for the Evo, I think I'd like to buy a GSR X some day.

It's nice indeed, but you can have far more performane for far less money in the aftermarket. We're really spoiled to have such an abundance of aftermarket and tuning options with Evos and Subarus. The knowledge base is there, what parts are tried and tested. Basically, the blueprints to building a great handling, fast, reliable car are out there.

Sweet Jeebus, for $8000, you could build a monster EVO.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The U.S. needs more special interest editions for its performance enthusiests. Its sad how many we get compared to Japan.

Agreed. A good tune and pipe will get you 70 (bringing it to 360 ish). A good TBE, intake, headers, injectors, fuel rails and FMIC could cost around 8K but you should be over 400 at the wheels.. For the rest of the 16K, you could get a good suspension instead of springs. Ohlins for 3.2K, rear sway, roll center and bumpsteer kit...should be under 5K installed. You have 3K left for wheel and tire upgrade....DONE. |

Mitsu: Lets buy parts at retail value, install them, and sell it for a profit to the consumer... They can't possibly be smart enough to think this isn't a good deal on raw parts+install. |

This is definitely outrageously priced, but people have to realize that it is "factory" parts when it offered by the manufacturer and also are under warranted.
Everyone knows factory parts costs $$$. Also, something installed and offered by the factory has to be R&Ded to not have issues, typical with aftermarket parts (fitment, rattling..etc). Also to point out. Manufacturers use engineering to formulate and test the most suitable setup for their performance target. Not like how people throw parts into a car using the idea of; "i heard this brand is the best, it must be the best for the car", or "lets turn the boost way up for mo' powaa" |

If this has good injectors, what does my Evo X have? A carburetor?

However, I'm not sure if warranties play a big role with these variants. I'm not sure how it is in Australia, but the Ralliart UK packages that we've all grown familiar with (like the FQ-400) don't have the same Mitsubishi warranties, though I think they do get 12-month/12,000-mile warranties since it's an authorized tuner kit, kind of like how getting a TRD supercharger on a Toyota only gets that kind of a warranty rather than the factory one. I would assume that Ralliart Australia may have similar guidelines, as Prodrive does for their Subaru packages. |

I see people are making fun of this based on just this article, which probably does not represent the actual product. The author is not doing a good job of describing the offering, yet people quote on "good injectors" like if Mitsubishi actually said something like that. With so much education these days, are people still believing everything they read?

Too much money. Skip the Bathurst Edition or whatever you call it, drop some aftermarket kits, and conjure up your own special edition name.

Uh, Australia is a lot closer to Japan than the US. By a couple thousand miles.

Neat. But take a stock Evo X plus $8k to AMS and you will have a completely different animal.
