Thanks, it looks a little darker with that background than I can get away with here, but think I get the idea. I appreciate the help.

Installed 30% bronze slight reflective film. Usually used in stores but matched the wheels perfect. It really keeps inside cool during hot days. Plus I can see out of my windows at night lol. Going on two years and no harassment from the law. During the day, at right angles, you can see inside. Other angles really show the color and clarity. This pic was taken in the shade.

Lasted 1 month in CA before i got pulled over. Front tint is illegal in CA and it sucks. $15 fix it ticket
I've had 5% all around for about a year now not a ticket once (knock on wood). I think if you roll your windows down when you see a cop they see it as a sign of respect/you're not hiding anything, or they didn't notice the tint. Then again I'm in a desert area so they understand how hot it gets

I love the darker tints and I really prefer the same darkness of tint front and back side windows, but that won't fly here in Iowa. i know the highway patrol has been carrying tint meters and writing tickets (almost $300 a pop) for years and now I heard that my city has started doing this too. Maybe for the revenue or maybe the Officers just don't have enough to do (the crime rate outside the largest cities here is practically non-existent).

Search doesn't come up with any results. I was wondering if anyone with suntek cxp tint has any complaints about their windows looking dirty from the inside looking out with direct sunlight on the window? Got mine done at Midnight auto tint in a Everett, Wa and it's great job, the application is great, out of direct sunlight it looks amazing outside and inside but when the sun shines directly on a window the window looks dusty from the inside looking out. Like granular. The tinted thought maybe it was a bad roll, couldn't really give me a definitive answer on if it was supposed to look like it does. He tinted them again a few days ago and they still look dusty in the sunlight. I've google searched and can't find anyone on the internet complaining of this. I wonder if that's just the way tint looks in the sunlight. Any thoughts?

I've been doing a lot of research on reputable tint shops here in SoCal as well as brands/types of tint lately. My car has virgin windows but I'm going to stop by one of the local shops here just to check out some products.

Right now I am looking at Llumar CTX. I was thinking 35 all around but that may be a little too dark for me. Since our cars have black interiors, it'll also make it look darker than it actually is. I may end up doing something like 50 front 35 rears. Not going to touch the windshield. They quoted me $325 for the Llumar CTX which seems reasonable and right in line with what most other shops here are offering.

Cool thing about the shop is that they have a No Fault Warranty on top of the factory warranty and will cover and replace your tint if anything goes wrong with it - even if it's your fault. So say you accidentally scratch it with your key or your car gets vandalized, they'll still cover it and give you new tint. And for a small additional fee (I think it was $25, a little more if you get super dark tint i.e. limo/5%) they will also give you "insurance" - aka if you get popped by the cops and get a ticket for tint they will remove your tint and install new tint at whatever % VLT you want.

Wish I lived in SoCal...up here in MA, they bump anything darker than 30% at annual inspections. I had an old Merc I brought up from AZ when I moved here and within a month I was told I had to remove all the tint or I wouldn't be able to register the car.

I haven't heard of "insurance" by any shops out here, but I did reach out to a lot of installers and they will do the state max of 30% for anywhere between $200 and $350 for a coupe and +$100 more for 4-doors. Insurance would be a nice added service!
