well you don't have to use vacuum bagging, when i want to do something quick with minimum excess resin i wet lay my CF and i put the peel ply on top, then i use the breather cloth to absorb the extra resin, the peel ply will prevent you from damaging the weave pattern. All you need is epoxy that will let you enough time to work on your piece... at half the curing time you remove the peel ply.

What do you guys use to trim your carbon pieces once cured? Also what is your edge smoothing process? Thanks!

For edge smoothing, it depends of the part, the best is to make your piece so you don't have any (folded ends)... But i have used split brake line hose and plastidip too. |

As i said it depends of what you're trying to do, you can do some kind of rib with balsa, core, even vinyl tubing... If you're doing something flat you can use cardboard, foam, etc. As a core and wrap around the edge, you will have something stiffer with fewer layers of carbon.

You can still noticeably tell at least in pictures but I thought it looked cool it gave it character cause it didn't really look like drips. To me it just looks cool I guess. I love it.

You're going to have to either notch the cross member or get a legacy turbo or a turbo GC cross member (assuming this is going into a GC or GF chassis). I notched the cross member during my swap and welded in some supports, probably would have been easier to just buy a factory one.

How would two wheel with a different number of spokes look identical?
Grids have 6 spokes, 522s have 7 spokes... |

I used to have a similar setup until my zune finally bit the dust. Could hear it spinning for a while and then it just pooped the bed

It's actually not bad at all, gives a good line of sight so I can glance down at it without any glare. Doesn't interfere with my driving position at all. And for the other zune guy, I'm on my second HD as well but I really hate apple and theres not much aftermarket support for anything else.
