Default alcantara wrap

just got done reading about the military kid who wanted some alcantara work done on his STi but was too expensive.

It was just a flame thread of him getting bashed (which he deserved)

has anyone out there actually done their own interior alcantara work and have pictures to boot?

I like the idea of having alcantara covering my dash, however, that would be alot of work.

the fabric itself is quite pricey, but if i recall correctly there was a guy on these forums that covered interior trim pieces in alcantara as a hobby then it turned into a business. but this was many years ago.

I haven't done alcantara work yet, but I do have enough STi blue alcantara to do all my interior plastics and headliner, which is on deck after I get tuned next week. From what I can tell, it's mostly taking your time and using the right 3M adhesive.

What I'd suggest for the dash is looking into flocking rather than wrapping.
You basically would take the dash out, spray it with adhesive and then shake the flocking over the dash.

It's WAY cheaper and it might get you close to look you want for less hassle.

I like the look flocking gives. I'm interested to know how it would hold up to bi weekly cleaning.

I'd also like to see what your car looks like when you're done!

I may buy some spare trim parts and jazz em up

I did my seats and door card inserts, was not expensive at all for what it ended up looking like. (Always hated the blue inserts and carpet.

I always liked the blue suede, especially with a WRB exterior...but damn, that looks really nice man! Great job!

You are talking about Overland Designs. Jason does quality work indeed. My '18 has a bunch of stuff from him.

I spent somewhere around $500 plus the material. Seats are re-covered fully in leather and alcantara and the door cars just have an alcantara overlay where it used to be blue suede, be a lot more if I pulled the cards apart to do it "right" but no one has noticed.

Very happy with the results.

Default Flocking tips

I watched YouTube videos on flocking. Seems simple enough but how do you ensure uniform coverage on the dash surfaces?
Any other tips you could share?
