TMIC swap from wrx to sti worth it?
I've got an '07 rex and have been finding sti intercoolers in good shape on here for like $200-$300. Is there a significant difference in size($200 worth of difference? The only mods I have are a tbe and cai, not a heavy hp set up so the stock IC is fine, but a cool sti one for $200 bucks, come on, it's worth it right...? ha ha Thanks for check'n it out

front mount ftw! I would go with the biggest that you want to pay for, try to fiind a bar and plate one, tube and fin is no where near as efficient.

Yes, you can do it. Yes it will fit, but you will need a bigger elbow for it... You won't get much results other than looks.. Topics been beaten to death with a stick, do some searching.
Have you ever even seen the two next to each other? There's a big difference.. Last edited by moriswrx; 07-13-2009 at 01:08 PM. |

I think what this thread is trying to say is that you won't really see any power/torque gains from swapping intercoolers. It will look different.
... and if you really want to upgrade for future mods, you can get various aftermarket intercoolers that are cheaper and bigger. /thread. |

IMHO for $200, yes it is worth it. Bigger intercoolers cool better but maybe heat soaked longer. If you want much bigger, time for the FMIC.
