Default TMIC swap from wrx to sti worth it?

I've got an '07 rex and have been finding sti intercoolers in good shape on here for like $200-$300. Is there a significant difference in size($200 worth of difference? The only mods I have are a tbe and cai, not a heavy hp set up so the stock IC is fine, but a cool sti one for $200 bucks, come on, it's worth it right...? ha ha Thanks for check'n it out

you can get an ssac or css tmic for about 100 bucks more, and it's alot bigger than an sti tmic.Sti tmic arent that much bigger than your stock one.

front mount ftw! I would go with the biggest that you want to pay for, try to fiind a bar and plate one, tube and fin is no where near as efficient.

Yes, you can do it. Yes it will fit, but you will need a bigger elbow for it... You won't get much results other than looks.. Topics been beaten to death with a stick, do some searching.

You have no idea what you are talking about other than the $100 more.

Haha, where do people come up with this info. STI tmic is much more effecient than a WRX tmic.

I think what this thread is trying to say is that you won't really see any power/torque gains from swapping intercoolers. It will look different.

... and if you really want to upgrade for future mods, you can get various aftermarket intercoolers that are cheaper and bigger.

/thread.

IMHO for $200, yes it is worth it. Bigger intercoolers cool better but maybe heat soaked longer. If you want much bigger, time for the FMIC.
